Fort Stewart-Hunter Army Airfield

Starting Monday, June 1, gate staff will ask all drivers if they have a firearm in their vehicle. Drivers should be prepared to present proof of on-post weapons registration when transporting firearms through the gates. All firearms introduced on Fort Stewart-Hunter Army Airfield must be registered through the Directorate of Emergency Services, instructions Here. Installation residents who purchase weapons off post must present their receipt or bill of sale. Individuals introducing weapons during the PCS process must present their PCS orders. Weapons introduced by purchase or PCS must be registered within 24 hours. Drivers who are unable to provide proof of on-post weapon registration while transporting firearms will be turned around at the gate. To read the policy on weapons, ClickHere.
