EDUCATION BRIEFINGS:

In-Processing Briefings (All held by teleconference)
Monday: 1000, 1400

Friday: 0800, 1000, 1430

ETS/Retirement Briefings (All held by teleconference or Microsoft Teams)
Tuesday: 1100 (Microsoft Teams only) or 1300 
Thursday: 1000, 1300

Attention Separating or Retiring Soldiers:  Attendance is mandatory for Post 9/11 GI Bill briefing within 180 days of out-processing for separation or retirement.  Per: AR 621-5, para 7-2 (p) and U.S. law (10 USC 1142).  You will only be able to clear after attending the ETS/Retirement briefing held on the times listed above. You must bring your Working DD-214, copy of your orders and out-processing paperwork.  All attendance for Separating and/or Retiring Soldiers is documented in the Army Ignited portal under your personal account. NO EXCEPTIONS!

Note: The briefings are first-come-first-served with limited slots available.  Spouses and Dependents are welcome to attend.  Soldiers are eligible to attend the briefing more than once and are encouraged to attend again when changes occur to the benefits offered.

This is a virtual course held over Microsoft Teams. To schedule this course, you may either contact SFL TAP or the Army Continuing Education Services Office to speak with the course instructor.
 

 Note: Class is open only to soldiers transitioning from the Military.

 

TESTING SERVICES:

AR 621-5 requires all ARMY personnel to see an Educational Counselor for a Testing Referral Form prior to testing, regardless of the location they choose for testing.
 
PLEASE NOTE: FSH EDUCATION OFFICE does not offer CLEP/DSST TESTING or Proctored Exams.

This Testing is located at the National Test Center located in BLDG 4011A.  Please contact us for more information. Scheduling is done online and Test Referral Forms are required.  A fee may be required for these exams.

Army Personnel Testing (APT)

In order to schedule you must meet with a counselor first for test referral.  You must present an Approved DA 4187 from your company commander and a copy of your ERB/ORB as required by HQ ACES and APT.
 
ALL personnel must be in Uniform on the Day of Testing for APT exams (DLPT included).  Walk Ins are NOT permitted due to advance registration requirements.

  • Selection Instrument for Flight Training (SIFT)

Testing Procedures

  1. All testing requires preapproval through an Ed Center Counselor per AR 621-5. Once approved the Counselor will schedule your exam. 

  2. All APT testing (see list, above) requires a DA Form 4187 Testing Request/Commander's Approval.  Uniform is required on day of testing.   Walk-Ins are not permitted due to advance registration requirements with DMDC.

  3. Proctored Exams are available at the National Test Center by appointment only.  Contact us for more information.

  4. Testing services are NOT available on a walk-in basis.  You MUST have a testing appointment scheduled in advance.  Dates for each type of exam are scheduled monthly and not available at all times. 

DLPT Tests are 6 hours and administered in two day 3-hour blocks; Day one at 0800 (Listening) and Day two at 0800 (Reading) Consult a Counselor or the Test Control Officer for the test schedule and the next available date.  Students may only take one exam per test session.
