Mr. Roger L. Shuck assumed his current position as Army Support Activity (ASA) Manager, Joint Base San Antonio (JBSA), Fort Sam Houston, TX on 22 August 2022. He leads the Army organization that delivers Army-retained installation support services on the largest Joint Base in the United States.

As ASA Manager, he ensures that he and his team deliver and integrate installation management services for housing, lodging, Casualty Assistance, Army Continuing Education Services, Army Emergency Relief Services, and Training -- Mission Training Center, Camp Bullis Range Management, Training & Audiovisual Support Center.

Mr. Shuck has held a variety of leadership positions throughout his military career. His installation management assignments include: G3, Director of Operations, Installation Management Command (IMCOM); Deputy Director Central Region, IMCOM; Garrison Commander, Fort, Polk, LA, the Inspector General Directorate, IMCOM HQs. He also served as the Deputy Commanding Officer for 1st BCT, 3rd Infantry Division (ID) in OIF 07-09, as well as Battalion Operations Officer in 3rd ID during Operation Iraqi Freedom, the Deputy Commander/Chief of Staff, Fort Polk, LA. He served in Bosnia-Hercegovina. Mr. Shuck has also served as the Command Inspector General for Army South, as well as an ROTC Professor of Military Science at the University of Alabama-Birmingham, and as the Logistics Civil Augmentation Program Operations Manager in Afghanistan.

Mr. Shuck holds a master’s degree in Strategic Studies from the Army War College, a master’s degree in Counseling and Education from Long Island University, and a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Southeast Missouri State University.

His military awards include three Army Legion of Merit Medals, two Bronze Star Medals, two Purple Hearts, five Meritorious Service Medals, the Combat and Expert Infantryman’s Badges and the Ranger Tab.

Mr. Shuck and his wife, Kim, have been married for 29 years and have four children, Schuyler, Parker, Adrianna, and Victoria.
