Command Sgt. Maj. Aramis J. Martin , 1st Battalion, 1-145th Aviation Regiment

Command Sergeant Major Aramis J. Martin is a native of Crestview, Florida. He enlisted in the U.S. Army on October 3, 2002, attending Basic Combat Training (BCT) at Fort Sill, Oklahoma, and Advanced Individual Training (AIT) at Fort Rucker, Alabama, where he was awarded the Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) 15P (formerly 93P), Aviation Operations Specialist.

CSM Martin has filled various critical leadership roles ranging from Section Sergeant to Operations Sergeant Major. His assignments include: 2-2 Aviation Regiment in Camp Stanley, Korea; 1-10 Aviation Regiment at Fort Drum, New York, where he deployed for 12 months in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF); HHC, 82nd Combat Aviation Brigade (CAB) at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, deploying twice for a total of 18 months in support of Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF); and HHC, 1-214 Aviation Regiment in Mannheim, Germany, serving as the S3 Operations NCOIC.

In September 2012, SGM Martin assessed and was selected for the prestigious 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment (SOAR) (Airborne). During his distinguished tenure with the "Night Stalkers" at Fort Campbell, Kentucky, he served in multiple pivotal roles within the Regiment including:   2-160th SOAR (Abn), 160th SOAR Headquarters, and the Special Operations Aviation Training Battalion (SOATB). He deployed with 160th SOAR in support of Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF) and Operation Inherent Resolve (OIR). SGM Martin last assignment with the 160th SOAR was with Regiment HQs as the Operations Sergeant Major for 18 months.

CSM Martin’s other senior leadership roles include serving as the First Sergeant for HHC, 110th Aviation Brigade for 24 months, and as the Deputy Commandant of the Noncommissioned Officer Academy (NCOA) at Fort Rucker for 10 months. The Branch CSM subsequently selected him as the Air Operations Training Committee (AOTC) Chief (SGM) for the 15P/15Q Schoolhouse under the 1-13th Aviation Regiment where he served for 22 months. SGM Martin most recent assignment was the Operations Sergeant Major for the Air Traffic Services Command (ATSCOM) for 14 months.
