Col. Jeffrey L. Paulus
Colonel Jeffrey L. Paulus graduated from Santa Clara University and commissioned as a US Army Aviation Officer in 2002. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Santa Clara University, a Masters of Business Administration from Webster University and a Masters of Military Science from the United States Army War College.
COL Paulus most recently served as the Continuity and Contingency Operations Officer for the Joint Task Force – National Capital Region, where he was responsible for Continuity of Government and Continuity of Operations planning. COL Paulus has commanded the 3-17 Air Cavalry Squadron and C/2-6 CAV, and has deployed twice in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF) 05-06 and 09-11, as well as to Korea in support of the Air Cavalry Rotational Force. Prior to Squadron command he served as the Executive Officer to the Director of Army Aviation within the Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff, G-3/5/7, Headquarters, Department of the Army.

COL Paulus’ awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal, the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, the Meritorious Service Medal (5 OLC), the Air Medal, the Joint Service Commendation Medal (1 OLC), the Army Commendation Medal (2 OLC), the Army Achievement Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Iraqi Campaign Medal (2 Campaign Stars), the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, the Korean Defense Service Medal, the Army Service Ribbon, the Overseas Service Ribbon (5 OLC), the Senior Army Aviator Badge, the Parachutist Badge and the German Armed Forces Proficiency Badge (Gold).
COL Paulus has been married to the former Dr. Erin Gilbert of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania since 2011. They have two beautiful daughters, Evelyn (9) and Josephine (5).
