Command Sgt. Maj. Ruben A. Davila, Command Sergeant Major of the Aviation Branch

Command Sergeant Major Ruben A. Davila is a native of Houston, Texas. He enlisted in the United States Army on 14 July 1998 and attended Basic Training and Advanced Individual Training where he was trained as an OH-58D Aircraft Armament Missile Systems Repairer (68J).


CSM Davila’s first duty assignment was with the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment (ABN) at Fort Campbell, Kentucky. After completion of Green Platoon in May 1999, he was assigned to Delta Company, 2nd Battalion, 160th SOAR (ABN) as an MH-47E Aircraft Armament Systems Repairer. In September 2001, he was assigned to Bravo Company, 1st
Battalion, 160th SOAR (ABN), where he served as a Section Sergeant, Technical Inspector, and Company Jumpmaster on the AH-6J/M. CSM Davila was then assigned to Charlie Company, 1st Battalion, 160th SOAR (ABN), where he served as the Platoon Sergeant for the MH-60L DAP Armament Platoon. He was then assigned as a First Sergeant in Bravo Company, 1st Battalion, Charlie Company, 1st Battalion and lastly Headquarters 160th SOAR (ABN) for a cumulative time of six years throughout the three companies. After being selected for USASMA and completing it, he served as a Battalion CSM for 26 months in 4-4 ARB within the 4TH Infantry Division. CSM Davila also served as the TF 1-160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment (SOAR) CSM for 16 months. CSM Davila then served as the 82ND Combat Aviation Brigade CSM. CSM Davila most recently served as the HQDA G-3/5/7, Department of the Army Aviation SGM (DAMOAV). During CSM Davila’s tenure he has completed 24 combat tours in support of Operations in both Iraq and Afghanistan as well as numerous no-notice contingency operations around the world.
