Col. Jeremy E. Kerfoot
Colonel Jeremy Kerfoot received his commission as a Military Police Officer through the Reserve Officer Training Corps as a Distinguished Military Graduate from Virginia Tech in 2001. COL Kerfoot is a graduate of the Military Police Officer Basic Course, Military Police Captains Career Course, Command and General Staff Officers’ Course, and the Protective Services Training Course. He is also a graduate of the FBI National Academy, Class #266. In 2022, he graduated from the Army War College with a Masters in Strategic Studies.
Prior to his arrival at Fort Hood, he was the Military Police Officer Branch Chief at HRC. Previously, he commanded the 504th Military Police Battalion, JBLM, WA. COL Kerfoot’s combat deployments include Operation Iraq Freedom (OIF) I, Israel and Iraq (2003-2004), OIF 07-09 (2007-2008), Operation Enduring Freedom, Afghanistan (2009-2010), and Operation Freedom’s Sentinel, Afghanistan (2017-2018). His command assignments include: 22 months as Commander, 170th MP Company, 504th MP Battalion, 42D MP Brigade out of Fort Lewis, WA where he deployed to Kandahar, Afghanistan; 24 months as Commander, 504th MP Battalion, 42D MP Brigade, I Corps at JBLM, WA.
Colonel Kerfoot holds double Bachelor of Arts degrees in History and Political Science from Virginia Tech, a Master of Arts in Business and Organizational Security Management from Webster University, and a Masters in Strategic Studies from the Army War College. His military awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal (1OLC), Defense Meritorious Service Medal (2OLC), Meritorious Service Medal (3OLC), Joint Service Commendation Medal, Army Commendation Medal (3OLC), Joint Service Achievement Medal, Army Achievement Medal, National Defense Service Ribbon, Afghanistan Campaign Medal (2CS), Iraq Campaign Medal (3CS), Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon (Numeral 3), NATO Medal, Joint Meritorious Unit Award, Valorous Unit Award, German Armed Forces Badge for Military Proficiency (Bronze), and the Combat Action Badge. He has been inducted into the Military Police Regiment’s Marechaussee Corps (Bronze) and into the Chaplain Corps Order of Aaron and Hur.
