Command Sergeant Major Chylander S. Cummings is a native of Brooklyn, New York. She enlisted in the United States Army in August 1999 and completed OSUT at Fort Leonard Wood, MO earning the MOS of Chemical Specialist (74D).Command Sergeant Major Cummings served as Chemical NCO with Division Headquarters, Division Chemical, 1st Calvary Division, Fort Hood TX; Senior Drill Sergeant with Charlie Battery, 1-79 Field Artillery Battalion, 434th Field Artillery Brigade, Fort Sill, OK; Platoon Sergeant with 95th Chemical Company, 6th Engineer Battalion, 4-25 Brigade Combat Team (Airborne), JBER AK; CBRN Staff NCO with 89th Military Police Brigade, Fort Hood, TX; First Sergeant of the 181st Chemical Company, 2D CBRN BN, 48th Chemical Brigade, Fort Hood TX; Team Sergeant with the 46th Chemical Technical Escort (TE) Company, 22D CBRN BN, 48th Chemical Brigade, Fort Bliss TX; Battalion Operations Sergeant for the 22D CBRN BN, 48th Chemical Brigade, Fort Bliss TX; Brigade Operations Sergeant Major for the 48th Chemical Brigade, Fort Hood and the Battalion Commander Sergeant Major for the 2D CBRN Battalion, Fort Hood, TX.
