Col. Lillian I. Woodington

Colonel Lillian Woodington received her commission as a Military Police Officer through the Reserve Officer Training Corps as a Distinguished Military Graduate from Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania in 2001. She is a graduate of the Military Police Officer Basic Course, Military Police Captains Career Course, Command and General Staff Officers’ Course, and Senior Service College.  

Prior to her arrival at Fort Hood, COL Woodington served as Executive Officer for the Army Futures Command Deputy to the Commanding General in Austin, Texas. Previously she served as the Provost Marshal & Chief of Protection for III Armored Corps and commanded the Headquarters and Headquarters Battalion, 1st Cavalry Division at Fort Hood, TX.  Additional assignments include Executive Officer, Headquarters and Headquarters Detachment, 95th MP Battalion, Mannheim, Germany; Platoon Leader, 529th MP Company, Heidelberg, Germany; Battalion S2, 95th MP Battalion, Baghdad, Iraq; Law Enforcement Officer, 8th Army and USFK Provost Marshal Office, Yongsan, Korea; Provost Marshal, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, Fort Carson, CO and Baghdad, Iraq; Commander, Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 3rd Brigade Special Troops Battalion, 4th Infantry Division, Fort Carson, CO and Baghdad, Iraq; Liaison Officer, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, Basrah, Iraq; Rear Detachment S3, 4th Infantry Division, Fort Carson, CO; Executive Officer to the Commanding General, 4th Infantry Division, Fort Carson, CO; Operations Officer & Senior Military Police Observer-Controller/Trainer,  2nd Battalion, 383rd Regiment, First Army Division West, Leavenworth, KS; Chief of Operations, 89th MP Brigade, Fort Hood, TX; Operations Officer and Executive Officer/Rear Detachment Commander, Headquarters and Headquarters Battalion, III Armored Corps, Fort Hood, TX; Protection Plans Officer and Deputy Provost Marshal, U.S. Army Pacific, Fort Shafter, HI; and Professor of Military Science, Slippery Rock University ROTC, Slippery Rock, PA. 

COL Woodington’s combat deployments include Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF), Iraq 04-05 (2004-2005), OIF 07-09 (2007-2009), and OIF 09-11 (2010-2011).  Her command assignments include: 27 months as Commander, Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 3rd Brigade Special Troops Battalion, 4th Infantry Division, at Fort Carson, CO and deployed to Iraq; and 24 months as Commander, Headquarters and Headquarters Battalion, 1st Cavalry Division at Fort Hood, TX. 

COL Woodington holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Parks and Resource Management and a Minor in Leadership from Slippery Rock University, a Master of Arts in Business and Organizational Security Management from Webster University, and a Master of Strategic Studies from the Army War College.  Her military awards and decorations include the Legion of Merit, the Bronze Star Medal (2OLC), the Meritorious Service Medal (4OLC), the Joint Service Commendation Medal, the Army Commendation Medal (3OLC), Army Achievement Medal (1OLC), National Defense Service Medal, Iraqi Campaign Medal (5CS), Global War on Terror Service Medal, Korean Defense Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon (Numeral 5), Joint Meritorious Unit Award, Valorous Unit Award, Meritorious Unit Commendation, and German Armed Forces Badge for Military Proficiency (Gold). She has been inducted into the Military Police Regiment’s Marechaussee Corps (Bronze) and into the U.S. Field Artillery Association Honorable Order of Saint Barbara.
