WHEELER ARMY AIRFIELD, Hawaii (March 30, 2021) – Service members, civilian employees and their families complete nearly half a million personal property moves and 70,000 privately owned vehicle, or POV, shipments every year.
About half of those take place during the busy mid-May through August timeframe, known as the "peak season" for moves.
Making a permanent change of station, or PCS, move can be a stressful experience, especially during peak season. However, armed with the right information, every PCS move has the potential to be a success.
All vehicle shipment are managed by U.S. Transportation Command and its contracted partner, International Auto Logistics. IAL handles vehicles being shipped in and out of Hawaii, and being stored.
The Honolulu VPC is located on Forrest Avenue at Pier 1 in downtown Honolulu. They are open Monday-Friday from 7 a.m.-3 p.m. Due to COVID-19, all VPCs are open by appointment only. Until further notice, you cannot drop off your vehicle on a walk-in basis.
Vehicle Turn In
Once you have your orders and are ready to schedule an appointment to ship your vehicle, make an appointment online at https://www.pcsmypov.com/Appointment.
In addition to required documentation, you’ll also want to ensure your POV does not have any unresolved recalls for electrical or fire related items, is clean inside and out and has less than ¼ tank of fuel or less at turn-in.

After you ship your car, you can track its status to its next destination online at https://www.pcsmypov.com/Track or via mobile app.
Vehicle Pick Up
The VPC will let you know when your vehicle is ready for pick-up. Even if tracking information indicates the vehicle has arrived at your pick up location, you must wait until the VPC notifies you.
After being notified your vehicle is ready for pick up, you must schedule an appointment online within 21 days at https://www.pcsmypov.com/Appointment.
To pick up your vehicle, you’ll need proof of identity, proof of ownership, vehicle inspection form and power of attorney/letter of authorization if someone other than the sponsor will pick the vehicle up. Additional requirements are outlined at https://www.pcsmypov.com/PickUp for more information.
