ID Cards
Provide support to all Military Personnel, Dependents, DoD Civilian Employees, Contractors, Retired Military and Retired Civilian Employees. Our services include the issuance of Identification Cards for members of the Uniformed Services and to ensure enrollment in the Defense Enrollment Eligibility Reporting System (DEERS). When attempting to obtain a Common Access Card, proof of Identity is mandatory.
Below you may find the acceptable identification documents:
• Documents must be originals, or original court certified copy.
• All foreign documents must be originals with an Apostille and translated in English. Please contact the department of Foreign Ministry Affairs in the country of issuance or Google "Apostille certification & country" to obtain guidance.
• All court documentation must be state or county certified stating that it has been filed and recorded in the courthouse.
• When a Social Security (SS) number is required, you may use a SS Card.
• Driver's Licenses must have an actual date of expiration.
USID CARDS:
• Retired Military - DD Form 214 or retirement orders and two valid forms of ID.
• Individual Ready Reserve (IRR) - DD Form 214 and two valid forms of ID.
• DAV (initial issuance) -- Two valid forms of ID letter from Veterans Affairs Administration stating member is 100 percent disabled and authorizes commissary and exchange privileges along with a DD Form 214.
Dependent ID: Sponsors must accompany their Family members at all times.
Spouse – Two valid forms of ID (Medicare Card if turning age 65).
New spouse enrollment –Photo ID, Birth Certificate or Passport, Social security card and Marriage certificate with seal.
Un-remarried Widow – Two valid forms of ID (Medicare Card if turning age 65).
Former Spouse – Two valid forms of ID (Medicare Card if turning age 65).
Newborn – Birth verification from the hospital can be used for initial enrollment social security card and birth certificate must be turned in within 90 days

Automation Section
Monitors automated personnel accounting operations and audit reports. Analyzes and processes source data and documents required for maintenance of e-MILPO files. Provides standard and special personnel data reports required by the installation command and staff. Provides monthly user performance reports, updates Department of the Army input to local systems and advises commander and staff on automated personnel data activities. Customer Service
Responds to all inquiries and requests for personnel service support under the Military Personnel Service Support (MPSS) Program. Controls visits to MPD elements by those requesting information or support to ensure maximum effectiveness of response by scheduling appointments, and referring unusual inquiries or requests to appropriate element. Generates Identification Tags by request.

In/Out processing section
Provide central in and out-processing for all incoming and departing Soldiers and Family Members. Ensure all Soldiers are In/out-processed IAW AR 600-8-101. All service members will be in processed one-on-one.
In-processing will need:
◾ Orders.
◾ In-processing and audit checklists (provided by unit).
◾ e-MILPO arrival transaction (provided by unit).
Out-processing will need:
• DA 137-1 (Unit Clearance Record). Not earlier than 10 days from the departure date.
• DA Form 137-2 (Installation Clearance Record).
• PCS or ETS Orders with all amendments.
• DA Form 31 (Approved Leave Form with control number) 2 Copies.

Officer/Enlisted Personnel Management Section
The Personnel Services office mission is to provide professional and diligent service to those who serve, thereby promoting Family readiness and success. We provide personnel services support, including, but not limited to, updates to ERB/ORB and DD Form 93/SGLV, Promotions, and In/Out Processing. SGLV 8286 and DA form 93 updates are the ONLY walk-in services available.

Personnel Reassignment
Prepare/Process assignment instructions issued by HQDA. Conducts qualification screening for special instructions and service obligation; initiates transfer actions as required. You will be directed by your servicing S-1 to complete the Fort DIX Online Levy Briefing to start your reassignment processing as outlined below.
Upon completion of the online levy briefing and/or all the requirements are met to receive PCS orders, orders will be published no later than 90 days prior to the report date "established" by HRC, regardless of the authorization for an early report.

Promotion Guidance
Screens, verifies, and identified selected Soldiers for promotion to the next higher grade under the Decentralized and Semi-Centralized Promotion System. Generate promotion orders as needed.

Transition Center
To provide the highest quality separation processes to Active Duty, Reserve and National Guard Soldiers in our community. This includes the timely and accurate preparation of DD Form 214's (Certificate of Release or Discharge from active duty) and the publishing of all separation orders.
Every Soldier that transitions from the Army, regardless of type of separation, must meet the following basic requirements:
• Complete the Transition Assistance Program (TAP).
• Complete a Physical Examination (Phase 1 and 2).
• Have Separation Orders.
• Complete DD Form 2656 - Data For Payment of Retired Personnel (Retirement Only).
• Have leave form (DA Form 31).
• Have been cleared by Finance.

Retirement Services Office
The Army Retirement Services Office oversees Army programs worldwide that prepare Soldiers and their Families for retirement, assist survivors of Soldiers who die on active duty, and serve Retired Soldiers, surviving spouses, and their Families. Encourage Retired Soldiers to be Soldiers For Life, and improve recruiting and retention.
Pre-Retirement Briefings
• One-on-One individual Pre-Retirement briefings are by appointment only.
Retirement Ceremonies
• USASA, Fort Dix provides execution guidance for unit-conducted and individual retirement ceremonies. Assist in ensuring ceremonies reflect gratitude for the Soldier’s service to our nation.
Retiree Council Meetings
• US Army Support Activity (ASA), Fort Dix’s Retiree Council, is organized to enhance the prestige and morale of all the Military Services of the United States and military Retirees; disseminates information and resolves problems common to all Retirees; recommends and support resolutions that will enable the Chief of Staff of the Army, or other Military Services, to take action at the Department level to protect benefits military Retirees earned. The Council is governed by Army Regulation 600-8-7, Retirement Services Program, which establishes our Retiree Council, policies and the geographical area of responsibility.
Quarterly Pre-Retirement Briefings

Survivor Benefit Plan Counseling (SBP)
• IAW AR 600-8-7, The SBP is the sole means by which survivors can receive a portion of military retired pay. Participation in SBP allows retired members to voluntarily elect to receive reduced retired pay during their lifetime in order to provide a portion of their retired pay as an annuity to their survivor(s) following the retired Soldier’s death. All Soldiers must make an SBP election before retirement. Contact the RSO to schedule an appointment.
Pre-retirement Services
• Counsels Soldiers and family members concerning retirement rights, benefits, and privileges.
• Conducts one-on-one SBP counseling for all retiring Soldiers, and their family members.
• Conducts one-on-one (desk-side) Pre-Retirement briefings as needed.
• Assists retiring Soldiers and family members with completion of the DD Form 2656 (Data for Payment of Retired Personnel).
• Processes the DD Form 2656 electronically using TRANSPROC to the Department of Defense Finance and Accounting Services, Cleveland (DFAS-CL).
Post-retirement Services
• Counsels and assists survivors of retired Soldiers, and Soldiers who die on active duty regarding their SBP options and entitlements, and the proper processing of their SBP elections, which includes counseling on Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Dependency and Indemnity Compensation (DIC) and its relationship to SBP.
• Publishes mails retiree newsletters at least annually in coordination with the Joint Base.
• Publishes periodic articles for installation and local newspapers.
• Conducts an annual Retiree Appreciation Day (RAD) in coordination with the Joint Base.
• Provides information and filing assistance for the "Annuities for Certain Military Surviving Spouses" -or ACMSS, also known as "Forgotten Widows."
• Provides information and assistance to Soldiers, spouses, and former spouses regarding the Uniformed Services Former Spouse's Protection Act (USFSPA).
• Assists/advises retired Soldiers in understanding and applying for Combat-Related Special Compensation (CRSC).
• Provides information to retired Soldiers on Concurrent Retirement and Disability Payments (CRDP).
• Assists retired Soldiers and family members in obtaining: copies of lost documents (i.e., DD Form 214, retirement orders, and medical records); re-issuance of military awards; and issuance of military ID Cards.
• Provides retired Soldiers and their families with information and referrals on a myriad of other benefits entitlements including Veterans Affairs (VA), TRICARE medical dental, Social Security Medicare benefits, and others.

• Assists in obtaining New Jersey ARMY RETIRED License Plate.

Casualty Assistance Center
The purpose of the U.S. Army Casualty Operations is to record, report, verify and process casualty information from unit level to HQDA, notify appropriate individuals (CNO), and provide casualty assistance (CAO) to the next of kin.
The USASA Fort Dix Casualty Assistance Center areas of responsibility are: Entire State of New Jersey. The following Pennsylvania counties: Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery, and Philadelphia. The following New York counties: Bronx, Colombia, Delaware, Dutchess, Greene, Kings, Nassau, New York, Orange, Putnam, Queens, Richmond, Rockland, Suffolk, Sullivan, Ulster Westchester and City of New York.

Line of Duty
Line of duty investigations are conducted to establish the legal conclusion as to whether the Soldier was at fault at the time of his injury or death. Line of duty investigations are important to the Soldier if an injury occurs while the Soldier is on active duty in order for him/her to receive medical care upon departure from active duty. Veteran Affairs or other facilities will not treat Soldiers for injuries unless service connection is proven. This is done by the LODI.
Total Army Sponsorship Program (TASP)
The Total Army Sponsorship Program, or TASP, mission is to help Soldiers, civilian employees and their families better integrate into the U.S. Army, and to assist them when they transition to different units. Sponsorship applies to all active component Soldiers in ranks E-1 through O-6, according to TASP REGULATION, ARMY REGULATION 600-8-8.
TASP ensures incoming Soldiers are assigned sponsors prior to reporting to their next duty station. Obtaining a sponsor reduces the stress of reporting to a new unit, enhances resiliency and improves readiness among Soldiers and family members.
