William (Bill) Giezie

William (Bill) Giezie is the Deputy Garrison Manager for the U.S. Army Garrison at the Detroit Arsenal, having served in this position since September 2025.  Bill has more than 33 years of experience serving in installation management and senior leadership positions. In his capacity as Deputy Garrison Manager, Giezie serves as the senior advisor and principal deputy to the Garrison Manager, exercising authority over installation‑wide management and operational decisions. Giezie began his government service in 1990 with the Ohio National Guard as an Engineer Company Platoon Leader after completing the U.S. Army’s Reserve Officer Training Corps program.  He transitioned from the Army to the Air Force in 1996 to become an Operations Officer for a heavy construction squadron.  While in the Air Force he led four overseas contingency deployments, two in support of Operation Southern Watch, and one each in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom.  He served in three command positions, one director position on a Joint Headquarters Staff and finished his military career as the Vice Commander of an Air Force F-16 Fighter Wing, all preparing him for his current role with the US Army Garrison - Detroit Arsenal.
