Command Sgt. Maj. Christopher McDougall

Command Sgt. Maj. Christopher McDougall hails from Indianapolis. He enlisted into the Army National Guard in December 2000 as a ground systems radar operator.  In 2003, he attended the Military Police Reclassification Course and joined the active component. 

His positions and assignments include customs inspector, team leader and squad leader, Kaiserslautern, Germany; senior desk and operations sergeant, Stuttgart, Germany; platoon sergeant and operations sergeant, Fort Knox, Kentucky; senior drill sergeant and first sergeant, Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri; combat adviser, first sergeant and operations sergeant major, Fort Carson, Colorado. He has deployed in support of both Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom, Afghanistan. 

McDougall’s military education includes Ground Systems Radar (Advanced Individual Training), Military Police Reclassification Course, Conventional Physical Security Program Manager Course, Antiterrorism Basic and Advanced courses, Company First Sergeant Course, SHARP Foundation Course, Drill Sergeant School, Combatives Level I, Master Resilience Trainer Course, Airborne, NBC NCO Defense Course, Basic Leader’s Course, Advanced Leader’s Course, Senior Leader’s Course, Master Leader’s Course and the Sergeants Major Academy. He holds a Bachelor of Science in criminal justice, a Bachelor of Art in leadership and workforce development, and a Master of Science in management.

His awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal with oak leaf cluster, Meritorious Service Medal with five oak leaf clusters, Army Commendation Medal with V device, Army Commendation Medal with eight oak leaf clusters, Army Achievement Medal with six oak leaf clusters, Good Conduct Medal with six knots, National Defense Service Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal with campaign star, Iraq Campaign Medal with two campaign stars, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Humanitarian Service  Medal, NCO Professional Development Ribbon (Numeral 5), Army Service Ribbon, Army Overseas Ribbon (Numeral 3), NATO Medal, Meritorious Unit Citation with oak leaf cluster,  Combat Action Badge, Order of the Marechaussee (Bronze), Drill Sergeant Identification Badge and Parachutist Badge.

McDougall is married and has two sons.
