Command Sgt. Maj. Paul M. Jones

627th Hospital Center

Command Sgt. Maj. Paul M. Jones was born in St. Andrew, Jamaica. He enlisted in the United States Army Sept. 15, 1997, and attended Basic Combat Training and Advanced Individual Training as an infantryman at Fort Benning, Georgia, and Advanced Individual Training as a dental specialist at Sheppard Air Force Base, Texas.

He served as an infantryman with Company A, 1st Battalion, 87th Infantry Regiment, Fort Drum, New York; preventive dentistry specialist, NCO in charge, Vilseck Dental Clinic, Vilseck, Germany; Endodontic Residency Program Section NCO and NCOIC, Snyder Dental Clinic, and Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Clinic NCOIC, Fort Gordon, Georgia; training NCO, Heidelberg Dental Activity, Heidelberg, Germany; senior dental NCO, Carlisle Barracks Dental Clinic Command, Carlisle Barracks, Pennsylvania; platoon sergeant and first sergeant, 257th Medical Company Dental Area Support, Fort Bragg, North Carolina; and first sergeant, Dental Health Activity-Hawaii.

Jones is a graduate of the United States Army Sergeants Major Academy Class 73. His most recent assignment was with the 18th Theater Medical Command where he served as the region sergeant major for Dental Health Command-Pacific, Fort Shafter, Hawaii. He was recently selected to assume responsibility as command sergeant major of the 627th Hospital Center, Fort Carson, Colorado.

His military education includes Sergeants Major Course, Company Commanders and First Sergeants Pre-Command Course, Basic Healthcare Administration Course, Combatives Level 1, Master Resiliency Trainer Course, Dental Management Development Course, Senior Leader Course, Equal Opportunity Leader Course, Anti-terrorism Officer Basic Course, Hazardous Material Driver Training Course, Unit Prevention Leader Course, Basic Noncommissioned Officers Course, Basic Leader Course, Preventive Dentistry Specialist Course, 10th Mountain Division Cold Weather Course, Combat Life Saver Course, Airborne School and Air Assault School. He holds a bachelor’s degree in leadership and workforce development from the Command and General Staff College.

 Jones’ awards and decorations include the Legion of Merit (first award), Meritorious Service Medal (third award), Army Commendation Medal (eighth award), Army Achievement Medal (12th award), Army Good Conduct Medal (ninth award), Nation Defense Service Medal, Kosovo Campaign Medal with Bronze Service Star, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Armed Forces Service Medal, Humanitarian Service Medal, NCO Professional Development Ribbon with Numeral 5, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon with numeral 4, NATO Kosovo Medal; Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, Parachutist Badge, Air Assault Badge, Expert Marksmanship Badge and the German Armed Forces Proficiency Badge (Gold). He is also a recipient of the Order of Military Medical Merit (O2M3) medallion.                                         

Jones is married and has two children.
