COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Command Sgt. Waylon Petty of 4th Infantry Division and Fort Carson, 2nd from the right, stands with the Fort Carson’s nominees, Staff Sgt. Brent Hemphill, 1st Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 4th Inf. Div., 2nd from the left, Spc. Darien Castillo-Katz, 3rd Armored Brigade Combat Team, 4th Inf. Div., far right, and Pfc. Marshall Mastrantuono, 1st SBCT, 4th Inf. Div., far left, at the Pikes Peak Military Affairs Council Armed Forces top enlisted luncheon May 7, 2026, at the DoubleTree by Hilton hotel. This year there were 21 service members who were nominated and split into three categories: junior enlisted, NCOs, and senior enlisted. The nominees included enlisted competitors from the U.S. Army, U.S. Air Force, U.S. Marine Corps, U.S. Navy, U.S. Coast Guard and U.S. Space Force.
