CMR package pickup is going paperless!

USAG Stuttgart Community Mail Rooms (CMRs) are preparing to introduce an automated system that will provide email notifications of arrived packages and eliminate the need for paper slips in mailboxes.

This process is based on ID card scans and accurate contact information, and anyone with authorization to pick up packages or be notified of their arrival must be registered in the database. If you have not already done so, please speak with your CMR staff to confirm the accuracy of your contact information and to ensure that any family members with notification/pickup privileges are properly accounted for.

APO & CMR Hours of Operation

Normal Operating Hours

Army Post Offices (APOs) are for sending outbound mail.

Community Mail Rooms (CMRs) are where incoming mail is picked up. Listed CMR hours refer to package pickup only — access to mailboxes is 24/7.

All APOs and CMRs are closed on U.S. federal holidays.

There is no change to operations due to local German or training holidays.

Newcomers

The Army Post Office (APO) and Community Mail Room (CMR) are two separate services. APOs are for sending mail and CMRs are for receiving mail. On Patch, Kelley, and Robinson these services are located in the same building. On Panzer, they are not.

To open a Community Mail Room (CMR) receptacle (mailbox) requires a copy of orders and a DoD ID card. A CMR box can be assigned either on the installation you work or live.

  • All customers must show a DoD ID card to send or receive mail.
  • All installations have blue USPS mailboxes for regular, stamped, letter mail.
  • A US Forever stamp can be used to mail an item to a German address, if you use your CMR address as the return address.
