LTC Shenice Williams

 

Lieutenant Colonel (Dr.) Shenice Williams is a native of Chicago, Illinois. She began her military career in 1999 as an enlisted Soldier in the United States Army Reserve. She was commissioned in 2006 and transitioned to the Regular Army in March 2021.

 

LTC Williams earned a Bachelor of Health Science from Campbell University (2005) and a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago (2010). She completed a two-year residency in Dental Public Health at the University of Iowa, earning a Master of Science degree in 2025. Her military education includes the AMEDD Executive Skills Course (2024), Joint Medical Executive Skills Institute Health Care Management Course (2023), Intermediate Level Education (ILE) (2023), Dental Management Development Course (2022), AMEDD Captains Career Course (2021), Dental Forensic Identification Course (2020), and Officer Basic Course (2010). She also holds a Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt certification.

 

Throughout her career, LTC Williams has held diverse leadership roles in the military, federal, and civilian sectors. Her assignments include Chief of Clinical Operations at Fort Cavazos, TX (2022–2023); Officer in Charge (OIC) at Fort Hood, TX (2020–2022); Regional Dental Director for the State of Texas in El Paso, TX (2017–2020); and Chief Dentist for Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in El Paso, TX (2014–2016). She is also a former owner of a private dental practice, where she integrated public health into the private practice model by incorporating the Ryan White Program to expand access to care for medically compromised and underserved populations.

 

Her military awards include the Meritorious Service Medal (1 Oak Leaf Cluster), Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal (3 Oak Leaf Cluster), Army Reserve Components Achievement Medal (6 Oak Leaf Cluster), National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Humanitarian Service Medal, and Armed Forces Reserve Medal (Bronze Hourglass and Mobilization). She has been recognized with the Outstanding Leadership Award from the University of Illinois (2010) and was named a Distinguished Honoree by the University of Illinois College of Dentistry (2018).

MSG Melanie Marrero

Senior Enlisted Leader

 

Master Sergeant (MSG) Melanie Marrero joined the Army September 2000. She completed Basic Combat Training (BCT) at Fort Sill, Oklahoma. MSG Marrero graduated from Advanced Individual Training (AIT) at Sheppard Airforce Base, Wichita Falls, Texas and earned the Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) of 68E, Dental Specialist and earned the Additional Skills Identifier (ASI) of X2, Preventive Dentistry Specialist at Joint Base San Antonio, Fort Sam Houston, Texas.
 
MSG Marrero’s military education includes graduating from Master Leaders Course, Health Services Plans, OPS, Intel, Security, and Training (70H), Company Commander and First Sergeant Pre-command, SHARP/VA Course, Dental Management Development Course, Instructor Training Course, Senior Leaders Course, Advanced Leaders Course, Basic Leaders Course, Unit Prevention Leaders Course, Mobile Retention Course, and Combat Lifesavers Course. MSG Marrero holds an Associates Degree in General Studies from University of Maryland University of Europe.
 
MSG Marrero served in various units and leadership positions, to include Senior Operations NCO at Dental Health Command-Pacific, Fort Shafter, Hawaii, Senior Enlisted Leaders and Non-Commissioned Officer in Charge at Fort Irwin Dental Clinic Command, Instructor/Writer at Military Education and Training Center (METC), Joint Base San Antonio, Fort Sam Houston, Texas, Non-Commissioned Officer in Charge at West Point, New York, Benjamin Franklin Village Dental Clinic, Mannheim Germany, Heidelberg, Germany, and Dental Hygienist at Defense Language Institute, Presidio of Monterey, California.
 
MSG Marrero’s awards include the Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal, and National Defense Service Medal.
