LIEUTENANT COLONEL Timothy L. Hewitt

SQUADRON COMMANDER

 

Lt. Col. Timothy L. Hewitt is the Commander, 15th Air Support Operations Squadron, Ft. Stewart, Georgia. He is responsible for organizing, training, equipping, and employing Tactical Air Control Party, Intelligence, Special Warfare Mission Support, and civilian specialists for joint operations worldwide. The unit is aligned with the U.S. Army’s 3rd Infantry Division and provides strike, integration, and command and control of joint fires. He is also the principle advisor to the Division’s Commanding General on airpower employment.

 

Lt. Col. Hewitt entered the Air Force in 2006 through the Reserve Officer Training Corps program at the University of Cincinnati. He has served as an Air Battle Manager at the Squadron, Wing, and NATO Staff levels, and as a Tactical Air Control Party Officer at the Brigade, Division, and Corps

levels. Prior to his current assignment, he was the Tactical Data Link Program Manager, Defense Information Systems Agency, Ft. Meade, Maryland.

 

Lt. Col. Hewitt is a Senior Air Battle Manager with more than 1,800 flying hours, including over 900 combat hours in direct support of Operations ENDURING FREEDOM, NEW DAWN, and INHERENT RESOLVE. As a Tactical Air Control Party Officer, he has conducted ground combat in direct support of Operation ENDURING FREEDOM, and supported Operation EUROPEAN ASSURE, DETER, AND REINFORCE from Germany.

CHIEF MASTER SERGEANT THOMAS E. JENN

Senior Enlisted Leader

 

Chief Master Sergeant Thomas E. Jenn is the Senior Enlisted Leader, 15th Air Support Operations Squadron, Fort Stewart, Georgia. In this capacity, he oversees the organization, training, and combat readiness of 122 military and civilian personnel from 18 Air Force career fields and equipment valued at $45M. He is also a special staff member for the Commanding General, US Army’s 3rd Infantry Division and senior Joint Terminal Attack Controller (JTAC), entrusted to guide the efforts of integrating joint airpower engaged in Close Air Support for the division’s 15,000 Soldiers.
Chief Jenn enlisted in the Air Force August 2001. He completed the TACP Apprentice School at Hurlburt Field, Florida in March 2002. His first duty assignment was the 14th ASOS at Pope AFB, North Carolina working as a TACP Journeyman and progressing to the position of TACP Battalion NCOIC. In December 2008, CMSgt Jenn was assigned as an instructor to the TACP Schoolhouse in Hurlburt Field, Florida where he directed the training of 400 TACP candidates annually. While assigned to 9th Air Force at Shaw Air Force Base, South Carolina, he simultaneously held the positions of Superintendent, Fires and Effects and Chief of Standardizations and Evaluations. Before assuming his current role, he served as the 25th Air Support Operations Squadron Senior Enlisted Leader at Wheeler Army Airfield.
His background includes numerous duties within the Tactical Air Control Party career field and various leadership and management roles ranging from squadron to Numbered Air Force levels. Chief Master Sergeant Jenn’s combat operations include Operations ENDURING FREEDOM, IRAQI FREEDOM, and INHERENT RESOLVE with both conventional and Special Operations Forces. He is a graduate of the US Army Pathfinder School and is a Master Parachutist with 68 jumps in his career.
