Mission: HHD provides ready, deployable, and survivable Mission Command and Support capabilities to the elements of the 385th Military Police Battalion ISO worldwide contingency operations and Fort Stewart installation Law Enforcement and Force Protection missions.

Company History:

Headquarters and Headquarters Detachment of the 385th Military Police Battalion was constituted 28 October 1944 in the Army of the United States as the 385th Military Police Battalion. Activated 3 November 1944 in France.  It was re-organized and re-designated on 1 August 1946 as the 385th Military Police Service Battalion Headquarters.  The Battalion was inactivated on 1 November 1948 in Germany and later re-designated on 9 December 1954 as the 385th Military Police Battalion.  It was allotted to the Regular Army and activated on 9 February 1955 in Boeblingen, Germany assigned to the Seventh Army, per US Army Europe General Order 1.  Headquarters and Headquarters Detachment and its subordinate A, B, and C Companies were relocated on 19 October 1955 to Wilkins Barracks, Kornwestheim, Germany.  The 385th Military Police Battalion was inactivated on 15 June 1993 in Germany.  The 385th Military Police Battalion was later activated on 17 April 2006 at Fort Stewart, Georgia.  The 3rd Military Police Battalion (Provisional) was concurrently inactivated with its headquarters element reflagged as Headquarters and Headquarters Detachment, 385th Military Police Battalion.

The 385th Military Police Battalion has supported operations in WWII, Operation Desert Storm, and in Operation Enduring Freedom Afghanistan 2006-08 and 2011-12.  The Detachment received the Army Superior Unit Award and Campaign Streamer for Rhineland 1944-45.  The Detachment received the Army Valorous Unit Award and Campaign Streamer for its deployment to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom from 2011-2012. On 1 October 2014, the Detachment completed a two year Defense CBRNE Response Force Mission in support of NORTHCOM.

The unit assumed Defense CBRNE Response Force on 1 June 2017 and just received the Eagle Award recognizing the Detachment as the most outstanding Military Police Detachment in FORSCOM.

Mission: The 93d Military Working Dogs (MWD) Detachment performs explosives and narcotics detection and specialized security patrols in support of FORCOM and U.S. Secret Service missions. 93d MWD conducts continuous and specialized law enforcement, force protection, and community assistance on Fort Stewart and Hunter Army Airfield. On order, deploy MWD teams worldwide to support contingency operations.

Company History:  Constituted 7 July 1952 in the Regular Army of the United States as the 93rd Militrary Police Criminal Investigation Detachment.

+ Activated 1 August 1952 at Camp Stewart, Georgia.

+ Reorganized and redesigned 1 May 1954  as the 93rd Military Police Detachment.

+ Activated 26 July 1967 at Fort Riley, Kansas.

+ Inactivated 20 December 1969 at Fort Riley, Kansas.

+ Activated 16 October 2012 at Fort Stewart, Georgia.

 293^rd MP Company

"Warriors"

Mission: 293rd Military Police Company is prepared to rapidly deploy for Homland Defence Quick Responce Force in support of Task Force Griffin and ARNORTH. Simultaneously provide professional law enforcement and installation access control to Fort Stewart community.

Company History: The 293rd Military Police Company was activated on 30 December 1942 in England. During the Normandy Invasion, the company conducted security and Enemy Prisoners of War operations between France and Germany. The Company inactivated in June 1968 at Fort Ord, California.  In June 1972, the unit reactivated at Fort Meade, MD and deployed to the New Cumberland Army Depot in Harrisburg, PA, to assist in civil disturbance control during the trial of the “Harrisburg 8”.  In December 1981, the unit deployed to Fort Chaffee, AR in support of the Cuban Refugee Operation.  In August 1985, the unit was deployed to Seneca Army Depot, NY to augment security against anti-nuclear demonstrators.

From June to November 1986, the unit participated in Joint Task Force Bravo, Palmerola Air Base, Honduras.  From October 1990 to April 1991, the unit deployed to Saudi Arabia as part of Operation Desert Shield and Desert Storm.  The unit provided law enforcement support, convoy security, MSR security, battlefield circulation control and performed those missions necessary to safeguard human lives and protect vital facilities in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Iraq.

The 293rd MP Co relocated to Fort Stewart, Georgia in August of 1992 and as a result of their high standards was selected to conduct operations other than war is support of Hurricane Andrew relief in Homestead, FL.  From August 1994 to January 1995, the unit deployed to Guantanamo Bay, Cuba in support of Operation Sea Signal, controlling an influx of refugees into the United States.  From June 1996 to April 1997, the unit deployed to Bosnia in support of Operations Joint Endeavor/ Joint Guard where they completed over 1100 missions and ensuring the implementation of the Dayton Peace Accord.

From August 1998 to May 1999 a platoon deployed to Kuwait as part of Task Force 3-15 and Intrinsic Action.  The company responded to a not-notice deployment in response to the terrorist attacks on the Pentagon working with the Defense Protective Service providing security and force protection for the Pentagon from September 2001 to April 2002.  The unit again deployed from March 2004 to 2005 in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom where it conducted convoy security and force protection.  The unit’s most recent deployment was from August 2009 to August 2010 in Support of Operation Enduring Freedom.  From June 2014 to June 2016 the unit stood ready to answer the nation’s call as an integral part of the Nation’s premier Defense Chemical Response Force (DCRF).  The 293rd Military Police Company is currently continuing its tradition of excellence as it provides professional law enforcement and force protection support to the Fort Stewart and Hunter Army Airfield communities.

FSGA LEC

The Fort Stewart Law Enforcement Company was activated 24 September 2024, in accordance with Army Force Structure, dated 27 February 2024. The Fort Stewart Law Enforcement Company’s current mission is to uphold the rule of law, safeguard lives and property, and maintain order through exemplary Law Enforcement and Military Police operations. The Company is committed to delivering superior policing services, ensuring the security and well-being of our community, and providing unwavering support to the Fort Stewart Department of Emergency Services and the Garrison Commander. The Fort Stewart Law Enforcement Company’s commitment to maintaining a high level of proficiency in military tactics ensures that their Soldiers are prepared to meet the demands of modern Law Enforcement with integrity, precision, and unwavering dedication to public safety.

HAAF LEC

The Hunter Army Airfield Law Enforcement Company was constituted on 30 August 2024 in the United States Army on HAAF, GA as part Total Army Force Structure 25-29. In total 41 Military Police Soldiers from 385th Military Police Battalion on FSGA were assigned and transferred to the HAAF Law Enforcement Company for the purpose of the Garrison policing mission. The Pretorians are committed to provide excellent law enforcement, proactive policing and community engagement. The history of the Hunter Army Airfield Law Enforcement Company is continuing to grow but its legacy is already rooted in a steadfast promise. To Assist, Protect, and Defend.
