LTC  Alex "Duff" Duffy

Battalion Commander

 
 
Lieutenant Colonel Alex “Duff” Duffy commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the Corps of Engineers from the United States Military Academy, West Point, New York in 2006 with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering.  He also earned a Master of Science in Civil Engineering-Construction focus from the Georgia Institute of Technology and is a licensed Professional Engineer. His military education includes the Engineer Officer Basic Course, Fort Leonard Wood Missouri, the Maneuver Captain’s Career Course Fort Moore, Georgia, and the Command & General Officers’ Staff Course, Fort Leavenworth Kansas.    
 
Duffy’s previous assignments include Platoon Leader and Executive Officer in the 92nd Engineer Battalion, Fort Stewart Georgia; Company Commander in the 94th Engineer Battalion, Fort Leonard Wood Missouri; Assistant Professor Military Science, Fort Valley State University, Fort Valley, Georgia; Battalion Operations Officer and Executive Officer in the 317th Brigade Engineer Battalion, 3rd Brigade 10th Mountain Division, Fort Johnson Louisiana; Director of DPW for Area Support Group Kuwait, Camp Arifjan, and Deputy District Commander, Savannah District U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.  His operational deployments include duty in Iraq, Afghanistan, Kuwait, and the United States South-west border.  
 
Duffy’s awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal, the Meritorious Service Medal, the Joint Service Commendation Medal, and the Army Commendation Medal, among others.  He also earned the Ranger Tab, Basic Parachutist Badge, and the Bronze Order of the de Fleury Medal.  He is a registered Professional Engineer for the State of Missouri.

CSM Michael J. Gossman

Command Sergeant Major

 

 
Command Sergeant Major Gossman is a native of Michigan and enlisted in the United States Army in December 2001 as a Combat Engineer.  He attended OSUT at Fort Leonard Wood, MO, and upon graduation was awarded the MOS of 12B. CSM Gossman has served in numerous leadership positions including Team Leader, Squad Leader, Platoon Sergeant, Senior Drill Sergeant, First Sergeant, and Brigade Operations Sergeants Major.
 
CSM Gossman’s assignments include Charlie Company, 588th Engineer Battalion, Echo Company, 3-67 Armor Battalion, Echo Company, 1-66 Armor Battalion, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, Fort Cavazos, Texas; Alpha Company, 3-1 Special Troops Battalion, 3rd Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division, Fort Cavazos, Texas; Alpha Company, 3-1 Special Troops Battalion, 3rd Infantry Brigade Combat Team, Fort Knox, Kentucky; HHC, MSCOE, 14th Military Police Brigade, Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri; Bravo Company, 3-10 Infantry Battalion, Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 3rd Chemical Brigade, Fort Leonard Wood Missouri; Headquarters and Headquarters Battalion, DIVARTY, 3rd Infantry Division, Fort Stewart, Georgia; Headquarters and Headquarters Battalion, DIVARTY, 1st Infantry Division; Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 2nd ABCT, 1st Infantry Division. He has deployed twice to Iraq, three times to Afghanistan in support of combat operations. Additionally, he deployed to Poland in support of our NATO partners.
 
CSM Gossman’s military education includes the Basic Leader Course, Advanced Leader Course, Senior Leader Course (Commandants List), Company Commander and First Sergeant Pre-Command Course, Master Resilience Training Course, Equal Opportunity Course, Sexual Harassment/Assault Response and Prevention Course, Army Basic Instructor Training Course, Drill Sergeant Course, Master Breacher Course, Unit Search Advisor Course, Modern Army Combative Levels 1 & 2, Combat Life Saver Course, and the Sergeants Major Course Class 72. He is a graduate of the University of Charleston, West Virginia with a Bachelor of Science in Organizational Leadership, and a Bachelors in Leadership and Work Force Development through the Commanding General Staff College.
