FORT STEWART NCOA VISION

Vision: We are the forge for the Army's most critical asset; the front line leader. Our graduates will be the standard bearers of the NCO Corps, capable of building lethal teams and prevailing in the complexities of modern warfare. This guidance aligns our limited time and resources to this single non-negotiable outcome.

FORT STEWART NCOA OVERVIEW

Basic Leader Course is a 22-academic day course consisting of 169 hours which focuses on the six NCO Common Core Competencies. BLC is designed to build leader and trainer skills needed to lead a team-sized element, while providing the foundation for further development along the PME learning continuum.

The Master Leader Course (MLC) lessons are progressive and sequential and are modularly separated into the four Army Learning Areas: Leadership, Operations, Training, and Mission Command as described in NCOLCoE Bulletin No. 1-19, Noncommissioned Officer Common Core Competencies (NCO C3). The MLC curriculum educates Sergeants First Class, Master Sergeants, and First Sergeants effectively accomplish the Army mission and produce effective and Operations capable Master Sergeants. The Master Leader Course serves a requirement to attend the Sergeant Major Academy.

 

The Common Faculty Development-Instructor Course (CFD-IC) is a competency-based course: the learning objectives are based on internationally recognized instructor competencies published by the International Board of Standards for Training, Performance, and Instruction (IBSTPI). The course prepares new faculty to teach, train, and facilitate learning in an adult learning environment. It introduces new faculty to Army instructor roles and responsibilities, teaching and learning models, and professional and ethical requirements. The course also introduces classroom management techniques, the process for building learning objectives and lesson plans, and characteristics of effective communication
