CW5 Travis R. Michael, Command Chief Warrant Officer, 128th Aviation Brigade
Originally from Greenville, TX, CW5 Michael joined the U.S. Army in March of 2002. He attended Basic Training at Fort Jackson, SC followed by Advanced Individual Training as a 15Y AH-64D Armament/Avionics/Electronics System Repairer. Chief Michael’s first duty assignment was with 1-227th AVN REGT Ft Hood, TX where he deployed to Iraq in 2003 and again from 2004 to 2005 in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
CW5 Michael was selected for Warrant Officer Candidate School in 2007 while serving as a Technical Inspector at 1-2 AVN REGT Camp Eagle, Korea. Upon graduation of the Warrant Officer Basic Course, CW5 Michael was assigned to 3-159th ARB in Illesheim, Germany. He deployed in support of Operation Spartan Shield and served as the Battalion Armament Officer as well as the Production Control Officer. With his return to CONUS, Chief Michael served as Production Control and Technical Supply OIC for 122nd ASB Ft Bragg, NC and deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom, Bagram, Afghanistan. In 2016, he was selected to serve as the Eagle Team Operations group Aviation Armament Observer Coach Trainer (Eagle 26A) at the National Training Center, Fort Irwin, CA. From there, CW5 Michael was assigned to the 4th Infantry Division G4 Aviation Maintenance Officer position where he volunteered for a Worldwide Individual Augmentation System (WIAS) tasker attached to III CORP Joint Staff in support of Operation Inherent Resolve. In 2022 he assumed the role as the Division Aviation Maintenance Officer in the 82nd Airborne Division G4, Ft Liberty, NC until April 2025.
CW5 Michael’s military education includes all levels of Warrant Officer PME. He is a graduate of the SERE C course and holds a Bachelor of Science in Aviation Maintenance from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University.
CW5 Michael is married to Jennifer Michael and has two children, Austin and Alexi.
