MSGT ERIC C. MCELROY

MSgt Eric C, McElroy is the 23d Flying Training Squadron Senior Enlisted Leader at Fort Rucker, AL. He is responsible for advising the Commander at the United States Air Forces only helicopter UPT training unit, graduating 176 aviators annually. Additionally, MSgt McElroy is an Evaluator Special Missions Aviator with almost 1900 flight hours in the UH-1N. MSgt McElroy plays an integral role in ensuring the professional growth, morale, and readiness of over 60 permanent party personnel within the organization.

Born and raised in Wichita, KS, MSgt McElroy joined the Air Force in July of 2009 as a Tactical Aircraft Maintainer on the F-15E Strike Eagle and was stationed at Seymour Johnson, AFB, NC. MSgt McElroy retrained in 2013 to the newly created 1A9 career field and has spent time at the 40th HS in Montana, as an instructor at the 512th RQS in New Mexico, and served as the Operations Superintendent at the 1st HS in Washington, DC prior to Fort Rucker. MSgt McElroy has two children, Porter and Rylie, and has been married for 10 years to his wife, Reagan.
