Col. Jake Miller, Commander, 128th Aviation Brigade

Col. Jake Miller graduated from the United States Military Academy with honors and was commissioned an Army Aviation Officer in 1999. He attended Army flight training at Fort Rucker, Alabama, where he learned to fly the CH-47D Chinook.

Miller’s assignments after flight school include platoon leader in F/159 AVN “Big Windy” in Giebelstadt, Germany; staff officer and company commander in 7-101 AVN at Fort Campbell, Kentucky. After company command, he attended graduate school in preparation for a teaching assignment at the United States Military Academy. He then served as XO and S3 in 1-52 AVN at Fort Wainwright, Alaska, before serving as the XO for 1AD CAB at Fort Bliss, Texas. Miller then served as a joint planner in Special Operations Command Central at MacDill Air Force Base, Florida. Miller commanded 3-25 AVN at Wheeler Army Airfield, Hawaii. Most recently, Miller served as the chief of plans at the Futures and Concepts Center, Army Futures Command.

Miller earned a master’s degree of Business Administration from Stanford Graduate School of Business in 2009 and a Masters of Art in strategic studies from the Army War College in 2020.
