The ID Cards/DEERS section is an appointment based system. (Note: All individuals requiring issue of an ID or update of their DEERS status will be required to have an appointment). Appointment can be scheduled 120 days prior to card expiration. Cards can be renewed 90 days prior to expiration. You can make an appointment by clicking here.

Walk-ins will be seen on an emergency basis. These emergencies are: lost CAC; PIN reset; DD Form 1172; in/out processing; and retiree ID card renewal. Sign-in for walk-ins stops at 3 p.m. Time subject to change due to increased volume and may close earlier. Expired CAC cards or Active Duty dependent ID cards are not considered emergency walk-ins and will require an appointment. (Note: Lost CACs are required to provide a MP report to have CAC replaced)

 

Sponsor Information

Sponsor must be present unless:

  • Valid general or special power of attorney is presented - OR -
  • A signed DD 1172 no older than 90 days

  • All Foreign Documents must be translated to English.

    • Reenlistment Contract or Extension orders

    • Must be of Military Appearance
    • Soldiers name change: must complete change with unit, please call ahead of time to confirm change in DEERS system

  • Note: Children under 10 years of age do not receive an ID card unless the following condition(s) exist:
    • Single parent family, Joint military family, or residing outside of household

  • Court order establishing paternity or voluntary acknowledgement of paternity
  • State birth certificate (original or certified copy)
  • Social Security card

Dependents/Full-Time Students, Children (Ages 21-23)

  • Sponsor MUST be present to validate 50% of dependent’s support
  • School certification with the following information:
    • Form must be on official letter head from an accredited school.
    • Date start of school
    • Expected date of graduation
    • Must state full time student status
    • From School Registrar official

Custody/Guardianship

  • Custody Court Order signed by the Judge (Must state for 365 consecutive days or longer if Temporary Court Order).

  • Only Former Spouses meeting 20/20/20 or 20/20/15 Status may possibly receive continued benefits.

  • It can take up to 60 business days for these requests to be processed.
