Lt. Col. Andrew Henderson assumed command of U.S. Army Garrison-Natick Soldier Systems Center June 26, 2019.

He was commissioned in 2002 as a military intelligence officer detailed to armor. Following completion of his initial training, he was assigned to Ft. Riley, Kan., where he served as a tank platoon leader in 2nd Battalion, 34th Armor Regiment and as an Assistant Brigade S2. 

After completing training as a military intelligence officer at Ft. Huachuca, Ariz., Lt. Col. Henderson returned to Ft. Riley where he served as the Battalion S2 for 2nd Battalion, 16th Infantry Regiment and as a Military Transition Team S2 and Intelligence Trainer for the 4th Battalion, 2nd Brigade, 5th Division of the Iraqi Army. Upon the completion of this assignment, Lt. Col. Henderson served as an Advanced Systems Requirements Officer in the Office of Future Warfare Systems at the National Geospatial Intelligence Agency. Following his assignment to NGA, he commanded Kings Mill Army Recruiting Company, serving Northern Kentucky and Southeastern Ohio.

Lt. Col. Henderson then moved to U.S. Army Central Command where he served as the G2 Chief of Operations and as an Intelligence Planner in support of Operations Enduring Freedom and New Dawn. Following completion of the Command and General Staff Course at Ft. Leavenworth, he served as the Brigade S2 for the 42nd Fires Brigade and the 3rd Infantry Division Artillery Brigade at Ft. Stewart, Ga. Andrew then returned to Ft. Leavenworth where he served at the Mission Command Training Program as the Senior Intelligence Observer/Coach-Trainer and the Intelligence Warfighting Function Chief for Operations Group Foxtrot.

Prior to assuming command at Natick, Lt. Col. Henderson served as a Senior Project Officer for TRADOC Capability Manager for Echelons Above Brigade at the Combined Arms Center, Ft. Leavenworth. 

Lt. Col. Henderson is a graduate of Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas, with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Political Science. He also holds a Master’s Degree in Intelligence Studies from American Military University. His military schooling includes the Armor Officers Basic Course, the Military Intelligence Transition and Captains Career Course, the Geospatial Intelligence Officers Course, the U.S. Army Command and General Staff Course, Red Team Member Course, and the Air Cavalry Leaders Course.

His awards and decorations include the Bronze Star, Meritorious Service Medal (3 OLC), Joint Service Commendation Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal (1 OLC), Korean Defense Service Medal, Combat Action Badge, and the Army Recruiter Identification Badge.
