Pre-Retirement Briefing

  • First Tuesday of every month and it is conducted in person and virtually. Please check the calendar to see which months are in person and which are virtual. See the schedule below under Pre-Retirement Schedule 2026.​

  • 0800-1200 hrs​

  • For In-person briefings: must register to attend Pre-Retirement briefings. To register contact JBMHH RSO via email usarmy.jbmhh.asa.mbx.hrd-rso@army.mil

  • Soldiers who are retiring must complete the DD Form 2656 (unsigned) and the SBP Counseling Statement, then email both documents to the Retirement Services Office (RSO) along with a copy of your retirement orders. The RSO will then set up an appointment for your briefing

Survivor Benefit Plan Information

The Survivor Benefit Plan (SBP) is the Army’s primary program for ensuring your eligible beneficiaries receive a monthly annuity after your death. Understanding SBP before retirement is essential, and the JBM‑HH Retirement Services Office (RSO) provides comprehensive guidance to help you make an informed decision.

Retiree Council

INSTALLATION RETIREE COUNCIL​

  • Advises the Garrison Commander on retiree issues​

  • Represents the retiree community​

  • Identifies concerns affecting Retired Soldiers & surviving spouses​

  • Supports Retiree Appreciation Day​

  • Helps distribute updates on benefits & policy changes

If you are a military retiree with a desire to stay engaged, there are openings for volunteers who want to make a meaningful impact. The full council meets quarterly, and committees are encouraged to meet as needed to support ongoing initiatives and address emerging issues. Your investment of just three hours per quarter can make a significant difference in supporting Retired Soldiers, surviving spouses, and the broader retiree community.​
