The Basic Skills Education Program (BSEP) provides on-duty remediation in reading, mathematics, and test taking skills.
BSEP classes are closed on III Corps federal holidays. On training holidays, we will offer a study hall option.
The goals of the program are to:
Improve job proficiency
Raise GT scores for career advancement and reenlistment purposes
Increase potential for completing higher education and vocational technical programs
Eligibility: Soldiers looking to increase their GT score to a 110 or higher are encouraged to enroll in BSEP. Commanders may recommend enrollment in BSEP for Soldiers who do not meet reenlistment requirements or who may benefit from an academic refresher.
Enrollment:
After the briefing, please create an account and complete the OASC pre-assessment on the DANTES/Peterson’s site: https://dantes.petersons.com/.
Once you have completed your OASC pre-assessment, save the results as an Adobe PDF labeled with your name and DoD ID # on the document and email it to the BSEP mailbox usarmy.hood.id-wh.mbx.dhr-esd-bsep@army.mil.
You will receive a registration form and schedule from the BSEP team so that you can provide your information and choose your class dates. Send the completed registration form back to the BSEP mailbox.
You will then receive the BSEP Enrollment Form for the class you selected, a sample DA 4187, and all the information needed to enroll in BSEP via email approximately one week after submitting the BSEP registration form. Your commander must digitally sign the Enrollment Form and DA 4187.
BSEP CLASSES ARE FILLED ON A FIRST COME, FIRST-SERVED BASIS. Once a class is full, we no longer accept enrollment paperwork. We stop accepting ALL BSEP enrollment paperwork ONE WEEK before a class begins. NOTE: if you do not receive a confirmation email from BSEP, you are not enrolled in a class.
