Command Sgt. Maj. Jason E. Malek

CSM Malek enlisted in the Army in 2004 and attended OSUT as a 12C Bridge Crewmember at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. He has served as a Bridge Crewmember, Team Leader, Squad Leader, Senior Drill Sergeant, Instructor, Platoon Sergeant, Operations Sergeant, First Sergeant, Advisor, Operations Sergeant Major, and Battalion Command Sergeant Major.

CSM Malek’s assignments include 46th Engr BN, 1st MEB, Fort Polk, LA; 31st Engr BN, 1st EN BDE, Fort Leonard Wood, MO; 35th Engr BN, 1st EN BDE, Fort Leonard Wood, MO; 62nd EN BN, 36th EN BDE, Fort Hood, TX; 5BEB, 4SFAB, Fort Carson, CO; 2BEB, 3ABCT, Fort Bliss, TX, and 20th EN BN, 36th EN BDE, Fort Hood, TX. CSM Malek has deployed to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom, and conducted operational rotations to the Republic of Korea.

CSM Malek’s military education includes Basic Leader Course, Advanced Leader Course, Equal Opportunity Leaders Course, Air Assault, Sapper Leader Course, Drill Sergeant School, Senior Leader Course, Battle Staff, Counter Explosive Hazard Planner Course, Military Advisor Training Academy, and is a graduate of the United States Sergeant Major Academy Distant Learning Class 47 (71).

CSM Malek’s awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal, Korean Defense Service Medal, and NCO Professional Development Ribbon. He is also a recipient of the Engineer Regiment’s Bronze De Fleury Medal.

CSM Malek has four children: Micaela, Jackson, Dylan, and Charleigh.
