BATTALION HISTORY
The 57th Expeditionary Battalion-Enhanced (ESB-E) was constituted in the regular Army on October 18, 1927, as the 57th Signal Battalion and later activated on February 10, 1941, at Camp Edwards, Massachusetts, for service in the European theatre where it saw action in Northern Africa, Sicily, Italy, France, and Germany. The battalion was inactivated on September 29, 1945, in Germany following the defeat of the Axis powers and re-activated on May 16, 1966, at Fort Hood, Texas.
