Schedule an Appointment CAC Cards

The Fort Hood ID Card Facility provides Common Access Cards for Department of the Army Civilian Employees (DAC), Contractor Employees and select Soldiers assigned to specific units who do not have CAC issuing authority or equipment.

Some helpful information to start:

  • Once you open the block specific to your type of card an appointment link will be provided.

  • Common Access Cards may NOT be renewed more than 90 days prior to expiration.

  • The ID Card Appointment Scheduler is an application provided by the Defense Military Data Center (DMDC). The DMDC hosts and maintains this site. The Fort Hood ID Card Facility does not control its availability or speed.

  • A common prerequisite for the issuance or renewal of ANY identification card to adults 18 years or older is the requirement to provide two forms of original identification.  One identity document MUST be an unexpired government issued photo ID from the list of PRIMARY identity documents.  The second identity document may be from the primary list or the secondary list.    The identity source documents must be in the applicant’s name and cannot be expired or cancelled.  If the two identity source documents bear different names, evidence of a formal name change must be provided.  An expired Common Access Card (CAC) may be used as a secondary identity source document for re-issuance of a new CAC but it is not acceptable for initial issuance.  A link is provided within each specific scenario that describes what constitutes acceptable identity source documents.

  • EFFECTIVE 1 AUGUST 2024, at the direction of the Army Project Office and DMDC, all CAC reissuance customers are required to have 2 original identity documents from the DoD List of Acceptable Identity Documents in their record.  Please bring these documents with you to the ID card site.  If your documents are not in your record, your CAC CANNOT be used as a required identity document.

Most Soldiers at Fort Hood are assigned to units that have the capability to produce Common Access Cards (CAC).  Soldiers assigned to those units must receive CAC support from their Brigade S1.

This action is mandated in III Armored Corps Operations Order 24-03-0133.

Click the link for a List of Units NOT Supported by the Ft Hood ID Card Facility for military CAC.

In an emergency, if the system is not operational, Brigade S1s should contact the III Corps G-1 who will in turn coordinate with the DHR for support.

Soldiers assigned to units that ARE supported by the Fort Hood ID Card Facility must make an appointment.

Must have two (2) valid unexpired forms of identification in the original form from the DoD List of Acceptable Identity Documents.
