Command Sgt. Maj. Barbara T. Marquez
Command Sergeant Major Barbara T. MarquezOrtiz enlisted in the United States Army on 5 May 2003, completing Basic Combat Training at Fort Jackson, SC and Advanced Individual Training in Fort Bliss, TX where she was awarded the MOS of 14J.
CSM Marquez served as the 2nd Battalion, 55th Air Defense Artillery Regiment Command Sergeant Major; the 3rd Battalion, 4th Air Defense Artillery Regiment Command Sergeant Major; Operations Sergeant Major, 3-4 ADAR, Fort Bragg, NC; First Sergeant, HHB, 108th ADA BDE, Fort Bragg, NC; First Sergeant, HHB, 2-44 ADA BN, Fort Campbell, KY; Charlie Battery, 2-44 ADA BN, Fort Campbell, KY; Professional Development NCO (PDNCO), Fort Knox, KY; ADAM/BAE NCOIC, HHC/1st BCT, Fort Campbell, KY; Operations NCOIC, Robert Kalsu Replacement Company, Fort Campbell, KY; Assistant Operations NCO and Team Leader, HHB/5-52 ADA BN, Fort Bliss, TX. She also deployed to Iraq two times, Afghanistan, Qatar, and Bahrain.
CSM Marquez’s military education includes: Basic Leader Course, Advanced Leader Course and Senior Leader Course; Small Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Pilot/RAVEN; HAZMAT Controller and Handler; and Equal Opportunity Leader Course. She is a graduate of the United States Army Sergeants Major Academy (Class 71) and holds an Associate’s Degree in Human Resources.
Her awards and decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal (3OLC); Army Commendation Medal (3OLC); Army Achievement Medal (4OLC); Good Conduct Medal (6th award); National Defense Service Medal; Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal; Iraq Campaign Medal (1 star); Afghanistan Campaign Medal (1 star); Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal; Global War on Terrorism Service Medal; Noncommissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon (Numeral 5); Army Service Ribbon NATO Medal; and Driver’s Badge. She is also a member of the Honorable Order of Saint Barbara.
