Deputy to the Garrison Commander J. Scott Enlow
J. Scott Enlow is the deputy to the garrison commander at U.S. Army Garrison Alaska, Fort Greely.
A native of Tahlequah, Oklahoma, he entered the United States Army in February 2001 and completed Basic Combat Training and Advanced Individual Training at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. He retired from active duty January 2014 as a result of injuries sustained in combat.
Mr. Enlow served in several leadership positions during his time as a military police non-commissioned officer, holding most dear his time as a squad leader in Afghanistan. After retiring, Mr. Enlow continued service as a Supervisory Sheriff's Deputy, Special Deputy to the United States Marshals, Department of the Army Supervisory Police Officer, DA Deputy Chief of Police, DA Chief of Police, and most recently as the Deputy Director of Emergency Services at Fort Wainwright, U.S. Army Garrison Alaska.
His relevant military and civilian education included the USAMPS Protections Integration Course, IMCOM Director of Emergency Services course, IMCOM Deputy Director of Emergency Services course, and Civilian Education System Foundation through Advanced course. He is currently working on his Bachelor of Art degree in Criminal Justice from American Military University.
His awards and decorations includes the Bronze Star, Purple Heart, Army Commendation Medal (3 OLC), Army Achievement Medal (1OLC), Meritorious Unit Commendation (2 OLC), NATO Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal (5th Award), Afghanistan Campaign Medal (2 Campaign Stars), Iraq Campaign Medal (2 Campaign Stars), Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Korea Defense Service Medal, Noncommissioned Officers Professional Development Ribbon, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon (numeral 5), Combat Action Badge, USAF Security Police qualification badge senior, German Marksmanship Badge Silver, and the Order of the Combat Spur.
He is married to his wife Dion, and they currently reside in North Pole, Alaska. The Enlows have three children: Emma, Ezekiel, and Elijah. Emma is away at Oklahoma State University working on her B.S. degree and intends to start Law School at Tulsa University in 2025.
The boys both play football and wrestle at North Pole Highschool; Zeke will graduate 2025 and Elijah will graduate in 2027.
