Army Field Support Battalion - Carson

Sgt. Maj. Anthony C. Gomez assumed the duties as the senior enlisted adviser of Army Field Support Battalion-Carson, 407th Army Field Support Brigade, in August 2021. He is a native of Lemoore, California, and enlisted into the United States Army in August 2000 as an automated logistical specialist. He completed basic training at Fort Knox, Kentucky, and advanced individual training at Fort Lee, Virginia.

Gomez’s previous positions and assignments include materiel management NCO, 4th Corps Materiel Management Center, 13th Expeditionary Sustainment Command, Fort Hood, Texas; detailed recruiter, Los Angeles Recruiting Battalion; equipment records and parts sergeant, 502nd Military Intelligence Battalion, 201st Expeditionary Military Intelligence Brigade, Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington; materiel control and accounting supervisor, 501st Brigade Support Battalion, 1st Armored Brigade Combat Team, 1st Armored Division, Fort Bliss, Texas; operations NCO and detachment sergeant, 16th Special Troops Battalion, 16th Sustainment Brigade, Warner Barracks, Germany; senior logistics trainer/adviser, Regional Support Command-South, NATO Training Mission-Afghanistan; senior human resources NCO, 157th Infantry Brigade, Camp Atterbury, Indiana; first sergeant and logistics operations observer controller/trainer, 1st Battalion, 290th Regiment, 157th Infantry Brigade, Camp Atterbury; first sergeant, Juliet Forward Support Company, 1st Battalion, 8th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Armored Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, Fort Carson, Colorado; operations sergeant, 64th Brigade Support Battalion, 3rd Armored Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, Fort Carson; and distributed learning support chief, Directorate of Curriculum Development, NCO Leadership Center of Excellence, Fort Bliss. Gomez’s military training and education includes the Basic Leader Course, Advance Leader Course (commandant’s list), Senior Leader Course (distinguished honor graduate), Senior Enlisted Joint Professional Military Education and the Sergeants Major Course – Class 70 (commandant’s list). He has also completed the Sexual Harassment/Assault Response and Prevention (SHARP) Certification Course, Battle Staff NCO Course, Operational Contracting Support Course, Training and Education Middle Manager’s Course, Common Faculty Development – Developer and Instructor Courses, Total Army Instructor Training Course, Small Group Instructor Training Course and the Observer/Coach Trainer Academy.

He has an associate’s in distribution operations management from Coastline College, a bachelor’s in applied management from Franklin University, a master’s in administration and organization development from the University of the Incarnate Word, and an education specialist degree from Liberty University. He has also earned a demonstrated master logistician credential and has a standard adult education teaching license.

Gomez’s awards include the Bronze Star Medal with oak leaf cluster, Meritorious Service Medal with oak leaf cluster, Army Commendation Medal with six oak leaf clusters, Army Achievement Medal with four oak leaf clusters, Joint Meritorious Unit Award, Meritorious Unit Citation with two oak leaf clusters, Army Good Conduct Medal (sixth award), National Defense Service Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, Noncommissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon with Numeral 5, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon (Numeral 4), North Atlantic Treaty Organization Medal, Army Gold Recruiter Badge, Combat Action Badge, Driver’s Badge and the German Schutzenschnur Badge (Gold). He is a recipient of the Honorable Order of St. Martin.

Gomez is married and together they have two daughters.
