Chief Master Sergeant Daniel K. Staggs Jr. is the 13th Air Support Operations Squadron (ASOS) senior enlisted leader, Fort Carson, Colorado. As the senior enlisted leader, he advises the squadron commander on matters influencing the readiness, training, equipping, morale, welfare, and professional development of assigned members. Staggs provides subject matter expertise to the 4th Infantry Division as the senior enlisted subject matter expert on integration, planning, and execution of command and control, close air support and joint fires.

Staggs entered the United States Air Force in February 2003. His diverse Tactical Air Control Party (TACP) background includes work with infantry battalions, Navy Special Warfare Combat Crewmember (SWCC), Special Forces Group (SFG) and Stryker Brigade Combat Teams (SBCTs). He has multiple deployments as a Joint Terminal Attack Controller (JTAC) with small kill teams, scout sniper teams, Army maneuvering companies, Battalion Air Liaison Officer (BALO) for the Army Battalion, Wing Weapons and Tactics Chief and Squadron Superintendent. Staggs has deployed numerous times supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom, Operation Enduring Freedom, Freedom Sentinel, Resolute Support, Operation Inherent Resolve and Operation Spartan Shield.

His military awards and decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal with two oak leaf clusters, Air Force Commendation Medal with five oak leaf clusters, Army Commendation Medal with oak leaf cluster, Joint Service Achievement Medal, Air Force Achievement Medal with two oak leaf clusters, Air Force Combat Action Medal, Army Combat Action Badge, Army Master Parachutist Badge and 
Master Military Free Fall Badge.
