> Resources

> Bulk Trash Pick-Up Schedule

Bulk item pick-up is generally meant for items that are too large or heavy to fit into your trash bin. This may include furniture, mattresses, carpets, bicycles, sports equipment or other items that cannot be broken down with reasonable effort. It also includes electric & electronic equipment like appliances, televisions, computers, printers, etc. for which (HN) law requires special handling.

The rules of how pickups are scheduled and what materials are accepted and how they have to be prepared or placed differ widely between the various counties or independent communities. Please see the information under the links below and in the respective recycling guides or Separation Tables.

Normal refuse and recyclable materials, such as cardboard, cans, glass and plastics, is nowhere included. These materials should be broken down, if necessary and disposed of as usual in the individual bins.

Hazardous waste such as batteries, oil, paint, antifreeze, cleaners and solvents should be taken to Self-Help. Self-Help is located is Bldg. 103 on Rose Barracks and in Bldg. 394 on Tower Barracks.
