Commander

LTC Brian Laney

Lieutenant Colonel Brian Laney enlisted in the US Army in 2002 from Fort Wayne, IN, and completed basic training at Fort Benning, GA (known as Fort Moore as of 2023) as an Infantryman. In 2004, he commissioned as an Armor Officer through the Officer Candidate School at Fort Benning, GA (known as Fort Moore as of 2023). He was assigned as a Scout Platoon Leader with 7-10 Cav, 4ID and completed a 12-month deployment to Taji, Iraq during OIF III/IV. Following deployment, LTC Laney served in several capacities to include: Battle Captain, Assistant Battalion S3/Plans Officer, Brigade Training Officer and ROTC Assistant Professor of Military Science. 

In 2008, he transferred to the Signal Branch and served in key leadership and staff positions including: Battalion Signal Officer 2-14 CAV and Company Commander 556th Signal Company, both in 2-25ID at Schofield Barracks, HI and included a 12-month deployment to Iraq as a part of OIF VI and Operation New Dawn. LTC Laney served as the Battalion S6 OC/T and Signal Company Senior OC/T at the Joint Readiness Training Center (JRTC), Ft. Polk, LA (known as Fort Johnson as of 2023), Battalion Operations Officer, and Battalion Executive Officer for the 25th Strategic Signal Battalion at Bagram, Afghanistan. He also served as the Chief of Plans and Exercises for the USAREUR-AF G6, Wiesbaden, Germany and as the Oversight Branch Chief for the Department of the Army Inspector General - Records, Screening and Oversight Division, Pentagon.

His military and civilian education includes the Armor Officer Basic Course, Signal Captains Career Course, Airborne School, AFIT Cyber 200 Course, Command and General Staff College at Fort Leavenworth, Inspector General Course, and he has earned a master’s degree in information technology management from Webster University.

His military awards include the Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Iraq and Afghanistan Campaign Medals with four and one Campaign stars, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, NCO Professional Development Ribbon, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, Armed Forces Reserve Medal, NATO Medal, and Parachutist Badge. He is also a recipient of the Signal Corps Bronze Order of Mercury.

Command Sergeant Major

CSM Lawrence A. Allen

 
 
Command Sergeant Major (CSM) Lawrence A. Allen is a Native American from Shiprock, New Mexico and he enlisted in the United States Army in August of 1996 as a Signal Support Systems Specialist 25U.
 
CSM Allen graduated from Basic Combat Training at Fort Leonard Wood, MO and Advanced Individual Training (AIT) at Fort Gordon, Georgia as a 25U Signal Support Systems Specialist.
CSM Allen’s operational experiences include tours to Sinai, Egypt in support of Multinational Force and Observers Mission, Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, and Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.
 
CSM Allen’s duty assignments include Eighth Army (USAG Humphreys, South Korea), 7th Infantry Division (Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington), 1st Theater Tactical Signal Brigade (USAG Humphreys, South Korea), 2nd Infantry Brigade Combat Team, C CO 52nd Engineer Brigade, C CO 4-4th Special Troops Battalion (Fort Carson, Colorado), Headquarter and Headquarters Company [HHC], Ranger Special Troops Battalion [RSTB], Ranger Communications Company [RCC], 75th Ranger Regiment (Fort Benning, Georgia), 21st Theatre Support Command (Kaiserslautern, Germany), 269th Signal Company (Fort Huachuca, Arizona), 1-32nd Infantry Regiment (Fort Drum, New York).
 
CSM Allen has served as Key Leader Billet Command Select List (CSL) Eighth Army G6 Sergeant Major, Division G6 Sergeant Major. Additionally, he has held the following positions: Brigade Operations Sergeant Major, First Sergeant, Brigade S6 NCOIC, Battalion Signal NCOIC, Section Chief, Signal Support Systems Specialist Supervisor, Signal Support Systems Specialist, Retransmission NCO, and Operations NCO.
 
CSM Allen is a 2018, Class 68, graduate of the resident United States Army Sergeants Majors Course (USASMC). All levels of Professional Military Education (PME), Pre-Command Course (PCC), Company Commander and First Sergeant Course, Jump Master Course, Ranger Course, Ranger Assessment and Selection Program Two, Airborne Course, Battle Staff NCO Course, Air Assault Course.
