LTC Michael D. April

Lieutenant Colonel Michael D. April was born in Saudi Arabia and grew up in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He graduated from West Point in 2005; the University of Oxford with a Doctorate in Public Health in 2008; and the Harvard Medical School in 2012. He completed emergency medicine residency training at Brooke Army Medical Center in 2015.

 

His previous assignments include: Commander, 40th Forward Resuscitative Surgical Detachment, Fort Carson, CO; Brigade Surgeon, 2-4 Infantry Division, Fort Carson, CO; Assistant Emergency Medicine Residency Program Director for Research, Brooke Army Medical Center, Fort Sam Houston, TX; Chief of the Department of Emergency Medicine, NATO Role 2 Hospital at Hamid Karzai International Airport, Kabul, Afghanistan in support of Operation Freedom’s Sentinel; Service Chief, Department of Emergency Medicine, Brooke Army Medical Center, Fort Sam Houston, TX; and Associate Emergency Medicine Residency Program Director, Brooke Army Medical Center, Fort Sam Houston, TX.

 

Lieutenant Colonel April’s military education includes the Army War College Defense Strategy Course, Tactical Combat Casualty Care Course, Command and General Staff College, Brigade Healthcare Provider Course, AMEDD Captains Career Course, Combat Casualty Care Course, and the AMEDD Officer Basic Leadership Course. His awards and decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal (1 OLC), Army Commendation Medal (3 OLC), Army Achievement Medal (2 OLC), National Defense Service Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal, NATO Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, Armed Forces Service Medal, the coveted Expert Field Medical Badge, the Basic Parachutist Badge, the Air Assault Badge, and the German Armed Forces Proficiency Badge (Gold).

Battalion Senior Enlisted Advisor

MSG Kimberly R. Delcano

Master Sergeant Kimberly Rose Delcano, a native of Augusta, Georgia, enlisted into the United States Army on 30 July 2007. She completed Basic Combat Training at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri and attended Advanced Individual Training for 68W Healthcare Specialist and Phase I of the M6 Additional Skills Identifier school (now 68C) Practical Nurse Course (PNC) at Joint Base San Antonio, Texas.  She completed Phase II of the PNC at Fort Gordon, Georgia.

 

Master Sergeant Delcano’s duty assignments and positions include Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for 9E Medical/Surgical Ward at Eisenhower Medical Center, Fort Gordon, Georgia; LPN for 5B Antepartum and Gynecology (APGYN) Unit; LPN for Intensive Care Unit of Task Force Medical 10, Role II Hospital, Shindand Airbase, Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom; NCOIC of APGYN Unit, Tripler Army Medical Center, Hawaii; NCOIC of 5B APGYN and Mother Baby Unit, Tripler Army Medical Center, Hawaii;  LPN for Adult Intensive Care Unit, Tripler Army Medical Center, Hawaii; Drill Sergeant, at 1/81 Armor BN, 194th Armor BDE Fort Benning, Georgia; Senior Drill Sergeant of Warrior Training Rehabilitation Platoon, Fitness Training Unit, 30th AG BN, Fort Benning, Georgia; Chief Ward Master and First Sergeant of Task Force Medical 14, Role III Hospital Baghdad Diplomatic Support Center, Baghdad, Iraq in support of Operation Inherent Resolve; Detachment Sergeant of Headquarters and Headquarters Detachment, 14th Combat Support Hospital, Fort Benning, Georgia and currently serves as the Chief Wardmaster and Senior Enlisted Advisor of the 14th Field Hospital, Fort Stewart, Georgia.

 

Master Sergeant Delcano’s military education includes: Basic Leader Course (formerly WLC), Field Sanitation Team, Brigade Combat Trauma Team Course, Modern Army Combatives Levels 1, 2, and 3, Mobile Retention Training, Advanced Leader Course (CL), Drill Sergeant School, Master Fitness Trainer, Senior Leader Course, Combat Life Saver Course, Airborne School, Master Resiliency Training, Joint Forces Combat Trauma Management Course, Commander/First Sergeant Pre-Command Course, and Master Leader Course (CL).  She has earned her Associates Degree in Liberal Arts from Chaminade University of Honolulu. Master Sergeant is a recipient of the Noble Patron of Armor and a member of the Order of Military Medical Merit.
