Command Sergeant Major Robert A. Flynn, a native of Jersey City, New Jersey entered the Army and conducted One Station Unit Training at Fort Sill, Oklahoma, where he was awarded the Military Occupational Specialty of 13B, Cannon Crew Member

Command Sergeant Major Flynn deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom’s V and VII-IX, Operation Enduring Freedom’s II, IV-V, X–XI and Operation Alamo Shield in Honduras.

Command Sergeant Major Flynn’s military education includes the Primary Leadership Development Course, the Basic Noncommissioned Officer Course, the Advanced Noncommissioned Officer Course, the First Sergeant’s Course, Master Resilience Trainer, Air Assault School, Airborne School, Rappel Master Course, Fast Rope Insertion/Extraction (FRIES)/Special Purpose Insertion Extraction (SPIES) Master Course, Sling Load Inspector Certification Course, Jumpmaster Course, Pathfinder Course, Master Resiliency Course, the Field Artillery Master Gunner Course and the Military Advisor Training Academy (MATA/CAT-C). Command Sergeant Major Flynn is a graduate of the United States Army Sergeants Major Academy Class 66, the Nominative Leader Course and has completed a Bachelor of Arts in Business Management from Austin Peay State University.
