  • Protestant Women of the Chapel (PWOC): Tuesdays, September – May, 9:30 AM at Main Post Chapel.
  • Power Wednesday: Three Wednesdays a month, September – May, 6:00 PM - 7:30 PM at Main Post Chapel. This includes various studies and programs for different age groups.
  • Small Group Thursday: Three Thursdays a month, September – May, including LDS Scripture Study, Catholic Women of the Chapel (CWOC), and Parents of Little Kids at Fort Polk. Times are 9:30 AM - 11:30 AM for CWOC, and 10:00 AM - 11:30 AM for LDS and POLK@Polk.
  • Catholic RE: CCD/RCIA: Weekly after Mass, 11:15 AM at Main Post Chapel.
  • Catholic Children's Liturgy: Weekly during Mass, 9:00 AM at Main Post Chapel.
  • Men of the Anvil: One Saturday a month, 8:00 AM - 10:00 AM.
  • Unity Fellowship Kids Children's Church: Three times a month during service, 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM at MPC.

Command Chaplain Vision

Ensure Title 10 religious support of all faith groups for the Soldiers, Family members, and authorized Civilians throughout the Fort Polk areas of operations and responsibility. Oversee a collaborative effort among the garrison and mission UMTs to achieve first class and outstanding religious support activities for the Post Community. Coach, mentor, train and partner with all UMTs to ensure each UMT is fully resourced and professionally equipped to meet the various faith based needs to make all personnel Fort Polk Strong.

Leadership

  CH John Vianney Ijeoma was born in Aba, Nigeria and was ordained   to the    Catholic   priesthood   in 1988.  He   currently leaves in   Fort Johnson, Louisiana after serving for more than Five years in Germany. His hobbies include   traveling, riding bicycle and birdwatching.

CH Ijeoma came to the United States in 1997 as a missionary to the Diocese of Lake Charles, Louisiana due to shortage of priests to help provide coverage with parish ministry.

CH (COL) Ijeoma joined the Army chaplaincy in May of 2004 and attended Chaplain Basic Course in Fort Jackson, South Carolina and his Captain Career Course in 2011.  Subsequent assignments include Fort Lewis, WA (now JBLM), Camp Casey/Hovey, South Korea, Fort Riley, KS, USAG BENELUX, Belgium, Fort Leavenworth KS, Camp Humphreys South Korea, Fort Jackson and USAG-Stuttgart. John has three deployments of 30 months, 12 months to Iraq in 2005 to 2006, 6 months to Afghanistan, July 2006 to January of 2007 and 12 months to Iraq in 2010.

CH Ijeoma’s military education includes Chaplain Basic Officers Course, Chaplain Captain Career Course, Command and General Staff College residence. His civilian education includes bachelor’s in philosophy and master’s in theological studies.

CH Ijeoma’s awards include two Bronze Star, four Meritorious Service Medal, three Army Commendation Medal and two MUC from two deployments.

As a MAJ CH Ijeoma served with CHBOLC Team as an SGL for two years after a one year with C4 Team as an SGL at the United States Army Institute for Religious Leadership, training new chaplains and CPT chaplains consecutively. CH Ijeoma got promoted to the rank of Colonel on 1 Dec 2024 and moved to his current assignment on April 28, 2025. He served in Stuttgart from 27 Dec 2019 to 1 Oct 2022, PCS’ed to Wiesbaden, Germany where he served for nine months with USAEUR-AF as SAG-U chaplain from October 2022 to July 2023 and moved back to Stuttgart, Germany from 1 July 2023 to 28 April 2025.
