Areas of Focus

Four Pillars: Performance Enhancement, Resilience, Leader Development and Unit Cohesion, Prevention and Intervention

R2 can customize training based on your needs and availability to suit any number of performances and facilitate a singular training experience or run a series of workshops to help achieve mental skill mastery. PEs create a dynamic learning experience in whichever “classroom” setting makes the most sense. For example, PEs can provide training at the range, the gym, at your unit, or in our performance centers.

*R2 can also be utilized for personal performance preparations, not solely limited to Army-related activity.

R2 Fact Sheets

Mental skills training equips you to overcome barriers by sharpening your attention, regulating emotions, building confidence, and helping you recover effectively after a performance.

Strong learning skills help you grow, reach academic goals, and boost confidence. You can improve how you learn and study with consistent practice.

Resilience life skills help build mental toughness, strong relationships, and character, and enable critical thinking, problem solving, and effective communication techniques.

Masteries are customized, one-on-one performance and learning enhancement trainings for individuals to address specific needs. The goal of a mastery training is to develop participants’ full potential using a highly personalized and systematic educational and developmental process.

ERPC is designed to train Army Leaders (Company Commanders, First Sergeants, and above) and familiarize them with resilience and performance enhancement skills that Performance Experts (PEs) provide Soldiers, Family members, and Department of the Army Civilians.

DCRT is a series of operational resilience training modules designed to prepare Soldiers, leaders, and family members for the unique challenges and demands of combat and operational deployments, and the return to families and the garrison environment once the deployment has been completed.

Great Teams is a culture development program that brings together selected Soldiers and leaders from across a unit to engage in a series of exercises and discussions aimed at solidifying or redefining the unit’s shared vision, values, philosophy, and standards.

CEW helps Soldiers to learn and practice fundamental counseling and communication skills and immediately apply the skills in scenario-based counseling role-plays.

SLDC aims to build more cohesive units across the Army and empower NCOs with the leadership skills to build cohesive and effective teams, enhance the performance of their squad, and anticipate issues and address them early on.

ACE-SI empowers service members by providing comprehensive instruction on how to appropriately and deliberately intervene in crisis situations, and to recognize and assist at-risk individuals who are dealing with challenges.

Engage helps participants develop the ability and skills to take responsibility to intervene safely, early, and effectively with a team member, subordinate, or supervisor before a problem or issue escalates.

Meet the Team

PEs work at R2 Performance Centers and can help to understand and enhance the mental side of performance, maximize the benefits of training, and provide skills and techniques to develop strong teams. PEs are contractors who have a master’s or doctoral degree with a specialized emphasis in sport and/or performance psychology.
