Command Sgt. Maj. Melisha K. Wilson

CSM Melisha K. Wilson is a native of Jackson, Alabama. She enlisted in the U.S Army on 22 January 2002 as a Culinary Specialist, Quartermaster Branch. CSM Wilson attended basic training at Ft. Jackson, South Carolina and Advanced Individual Training at Ft. Lee, Virginia. 

CSM Wilson has held every leadership position, from squad leader to command sergeant major. She previously served as the Command Sergeant Major of the 101st Headquarters and Headquarters Battalion. Her career assignments include Ft. Campbell, Kentucky 102nd QM, 561st CSSB as a Culinary Specialist; Ft. Hood, Texas 62nd QM as a Section Sergeant, 565th QM, 553rd CSSB as Detachment Sergeant and Culinary NCO, and 13th Expeditionary Sustainment Command as the Enlisted Aide to the Commanding General; Ft. Polk, Louisiana 488th QM and 1st MED as Senior Food Operations Sergeant; Grafenwoehr, Germany 7th Army NCO Academy as a Small Group Leader and Instructor; Ft. Bragg, North Carolina, 1st Theater Sustainment Command as the Sexual Assault Response Coordinator and 82nd Sustainment BDE as the HHC and 23rd Field Feeding Company 1SG; Daegu (Camp Henry), South Korea 403rd AFSB as the Brigade Support Operations NCOIC.

CSM Wilson’s deployments include Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom during both combat and sustainment operations. 

CSM Wilson’s military and civilian education includes all levels of the Army’s Noncommissioned Officer Professional Development System. She is a graduate of the Battle Staff Course, Small Group Instructions and Training Course, Contracting Officer Representative, Food Service Contracting Course, Food Service Management Course, Demonstrated Senior Logistician, Serve Safe Manager’s Course, SHARP Course, Equal Opportunity Course, Basic Instructor Course, First Sergeant’s Course, and the Sergeant Major’s Academy Class #71. She holds an Associate of Applied Science in restaurant and culinary management from Central Texas College, a Bachelor of Arts in leadership and workforce development from the United States Army Command and General Staff College, and a Master’s in Leadership Studies with a concentration in Community Engagement from the University of Texas at El Paso.

CSM Wilson’s awards and decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal (8th award), Army Commendation Medal (7th award), Army Achievement Medal (4th award), Army Good Conduct Medal (8th award), National Defense Service Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal (1 Bronze Service Star), Global War on Terror Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terror Service Medal, Korean Defense Service Medal, Humanitarian Service Medal, Noncommissioned Officer’s Professional Development Medal (5th award), Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon (4th award), Certificate of Achievement and German Schutzenschnur Badge (Silver) as well as a Driver’s Badge.
