Command Sergeant Major Samara L. Pitre

Command Sergeant Major Samara L. Pitre assumed responsibility as the Command Sergeant Major for IMCOM-Europe on Feb. 21, 2019.

A native of Staten Island, New York, CSM Pitre enlisted in the U.S. Army in June 1990 as a split-option trainee reservist, completing basic training at Fort Dix, New Jersey, in September 1990, and advanced individual training as a legal specialist, at Fort Benjamin Harrison, Indiana, in October 1991. She transferred to active duty in November 1991 and completed her second AIT as an administrative specialist at Fort Jackson, South Carolina, in June 1992.

CSM Pitre’s previous assignments include G1 admin clerk, 2nd Infantry Division, Camp Red Cloud, South Korea; Battalion S1 Personnel Services NCO and Battalion Legal NCO, 297th Military Intelligence Battalion, Fort Monmouth, New Jersey, and Fort Gordon, Georgia; Administrative NCOIC and Battalion Legal NCO, 304th Signal Battalion, Camp Colbern, South Korea; NCOIC, Criminal Law Division, Office of the SJA – Military District of Washington, Fort McNair, Washington, DC; Administrative NCOIC, Office of the Under Secretary of the Army, Washington, DC; Vehicle Registration Admin NCO and Public Affairs Admin NCO, JCSC-NATO, Larissa, Greece; Records Management NCOIC, NCOA, and Drill Sergeant/Senior Drill Sergeant, 3-10th Infantry Battalion, Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri; Training and Operations NCO, 5th Signal Command, Mannheim, Germany; administrative assistant to the Senior Enlisted Advisor, U.S. European Command, Stuttgart, Germany; Senior Human Resources Sergeant, 2nd BCT, 10th Mountain Division (LI), Fort Drum, New York; and G1 Senior Human Resources Sergeant, U.S. Army Africa, and First Sergeant, HHC USARAF, Caserme Ederle, Italy.

Her Sergeant Major and Command Sergeant Major assignments include: Force Management Sergeant Major and G3 Sergeant Major for Army Cyber Command, Fort Belvoir, Virginia; and Command Sergeant Major for Special Troops Battalion, 2nd Infantry Division Sustainment Brigade at Camp Carroll, South Korea. Her last assignment was as the U.S. Army Garrison Benelux Command Sergeant Major in Daumerie, Belgium.

CSM Pitre has one combat deployment to Iraq for Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Her military education includes the Basic Leader Course, Advanced Leader Course, Drill Sergeant School, Senior Leader Course, and the United States Army Sergeant’s Major Academy with Class 64.

She has a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Liberal Arts with concentrations in Office Management and Spanish.

CSM Pitre’s awards and decorations include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (7th Award), Joint Service Commendation Medal, Army Commendation Medal (5th Award), Joint Service Achievement Medal, Army Achievement Medal (7th Award), Army Good Conduct Medal (8th Award), National Defense Service Ribbon (w/ Bronze Star), Iraqi Campaign Medal (w/1 Bronze Star), Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Korea Defense Service Medal, NCO Professional Development Ribbon (Numeral 5), Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon (Numeral 8), the NATO Medal, the Joint Meritorious Unit Award, and the Meritorious Unit Commendation.

CSM Pitre is married and has two sons.
