Wesley Leisinger

Mr. Wesley “Wes” Leisinger, a native of Houston, Texas, became the Chief of Staff for Installation Management Command Directorate-Europe in January 2021.

Prior to joining IMCOM-Europe, Mr. Leisinger was the Deputy Garrison Commander for U.S. Army Garrison Fort Stewart/Hunter Army Airfield in Georgia since September 2018. Mr. Leisinger is a member of the 2017 Cohort of the Defense Senior Leader Development Program, and completed Joint Professional Military Education II at the College of Naval Warfare, U.S. Naval War College. Prior to this program, Mr. Leisinger served as the Deputy Garrison Commander for U.S. Army Garrison Italy from January 2015 to July 2017. From June 2014 until permanently assuming the duties, Mr. Leisinger served as Acting Deputy Garrison Commander. He also served as the USAG Vicenza Director of Plans, Training, Mobilization and Security. From March 2011 to January 2012, he held the same position at Fort Huachuca, Arizona.

Mr. Leisinger has years of proven leadership and installation management experience within the Department of Defense, serving within teams and leading organizations in diverse and dynamic environments, both in the United States and overseas, as an Infantry Officer and Department of the Army Civilian. Mr. Leisinger has served in a variety of military and civilian positions during his career with the Army. He began his active duty career with the 2nd Infantry Division where he served as a Mechanized and Scout Platoon Leader in 1st Battalion, 9th Infantry, 2nd Infantry Division, Tongduchon, Korea. He has also served as Executive Officer, 2nd Infantry Division Long Range Surveillance Detachment, Uijongbu, Korea and G3 Training Officer, 8th United States Army, Yongsan, Korea. Prior to becoming a Department of the Army Civilian, Mr. Leisinger supported IMCOM Korea as an Operations Officer, Yongsan, Korea, while working as a Department of Defense Contractor. Mr. Leisinger began his career as a Department of Army Civilian on July 22, 2007 as a Stationing and Program Analyst, USAG Humphreys, Korea before assuming the duties of the IMCOM Korea Secretary of the General Staff, Yongsan, Korea.

Mr. Leisinger’s military education includes the Infantry Officer Basic Course, Army Ranger School, Airborne School, Air Assault School, Scout Leader’s Course, Reconnaissance and Surveillance Leader’s Course, Civilian Basic Course, Civilian Intermediate Course, Civilian Advanced Course, Naval Postgraduate School – U.S. Army Cost Management Certificate Course, Continuing Education for Senior Leaders Course (twice), the Garrison Leader’s Course, U.S. Army War College Defense Strategy Foundation Course, and is a graduate of the Leadership for a Democratic Society Course at the Federal Executive Institute and the Harvard University, John F. Kennedy School of Government, Senior Executive Fellows Program. His civilian education includes a Bachelor of Science Degree from the United States Military Academy at West Point, a Master of Public Administration from The University of Oklahoma, and a Master of Arts in National Security and Strategic Studies from the United States Naval War College.

His decorations include the Meritorious Civilian Service Award, Superior Civilian Service Award (2 Awards), Army Commander’s Award for Civilian Service, Army Commendation Medal (1 OLC), Army Achievement Medal (2 OLC), Ranger Tab, Expert Infantryman Badge, Parachutist Badge, Air Assault Badge, and the German Armed Forces Proficiency Badge (Gold).
