Tommy R. Mize
Mr. Mize serves as the Director, Installation Management Command Directorate-Europe, headquartered in Wiesbaden, Germany.
Previously, Mr. Mize served as the U.S. Forces Korea Director for Transformation & Restationing, the principal civilian executive and advisor for theater master planning and infrastructure development in the Republic of Korea.
Prior to becoming a member of the Senior Executive Service as a Department of the Army Civilian, Mr. Mize held numerous active-duty and Army Professional positions, including deputy to the garrison commander for U.S. Army Garrison Yongsan, Republic of Korea.
He retired from the Army in October 2015 following a 30-year career as an engineer officer. His military assignments included overseas tours in Germany, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Afghanistan, Republic of Korea, in addition to stateside tours at Fort Bragg, North Carolina; Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri; and Fort Polk, Louisiana.
His key assignments included battalion commander, 44th Engineer Battalion, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 2nd Infantry Division in the Republic of Korea, Ar Ramadi Iraq, and Fort Carson, Colorado; commander, 1st Engineer Brigade, Fort Leonard Wood; director of operations (CJ-3) NATO Training Mission-Afghanistan/ Combined Security Transition Command-Afghanistan; and chief of staff, Eighth Army, Republic of Korea.
Mr. Mize graduated from the University of Alabama with a Bachelors Degree in Industrial Engineering. He holds a Masters Degree in Strategic Studies from the United States Army War College and a Masters Degree in Information Technology Management and Computer Resource Management from Webster University.
Mr. Mize’s military awards include: the Distinguished Service Medal; the Defense Superior Service Medal; the Legion of Merit with oak leaf cluster; the Bronze Star with oak leaf cluster, the Purple Heart, and the Meritorious Service Medal with four oak leaf clusters. He also earned the Ranger and Sapper Tabs along with Master Parachutist, Air Assault, and Combat Action Badges.
Mr. Mize is a veteran of Operations Desert Shield/Desert Storm; Operation Iraqi Freedom; and Operation Enduring Freedom.
