Command Sgt. Major Matthew E. Ladd

 

Command Sergeant Major Matthew E. Ladd enlisted in the Army on July 23, 1996 completing One Station Unit Training at Fort Knox, Kentucky where he was awarded the Military Occupational Specialty of 19K, Armor Crewman. 

CSM Ladd’s assignments include Loader and Gunner, Delta Company, 3rd Battalion, 69th Armor Regiment, Fort Stewart, GA; Gunner and Tank Commander, Delta Company, 1st Battalion, 33rd Armor Regiment, Fort Lewis, WA; MGS Platoon Sergeant, 1st Battalion, 5th Infantry Regiment, Fort Lewis, WA; Military Science Instructor, St. Norbert College, De Pere, WI; First Sergeant, Charlie Troop, 5th Squadron, 1st Cavalry Regiment, Fort Wainwright, AK; First Sergeant, Headquarters and Headquarters Troop, 5th Squadron, 1st Cavalry Regiment, Fort Wainwright, AK; Senior Military Science Instructor, University of Connecticut, Storrs, CT; as a student at the United States Army Sergeants Major Academy, Fort Bliss, TX; Command Sergeant Major, 4th Squadron, 3d Cavalry Regiment, Fort Hood, TX, and Command Sergeant Major of 1st Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 25th ID, Fort Wainwright, AK.

CSM Ladd has deployed to Iraq for combat operations in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom 03-04, 08-09, Afghanistan for combat operations in support of Operation Enduring Freedom 11-12, Afghanistan for combat operations is support of Operation Resolute Support 16-17 and Iraq for combat operations in support of Operation Inherent Resolve 19-20.

CSM Ladd’s military education include the Warriors Leader’s Course, the Advanced Leader’s Course, (commandant's list), Senior Leader’s Course, (commandant's list), and the United States Army Sergeants Major Academy, class #65.

 CSM Ladd’s awards and decorations include the Meritorious Unit Citation, the Valorous Unit Citation with one oak leaf cluster, the Legion of Merit, the Bronze Star Medal with three oak leaf clusters, the Purple Heart Medal, the Meritorious Service Medal with five oak leaf clusters, the Army Commendation Medal with two oak leaf clusters, the Army Achievement Medal with six oak leaf clusters, the Army Good Conduct Medal, 8th award, the National Defense Service Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, the Iraqi Campaign Medal, the Afghanistan Campaign Medal, the Operation Inherent Resolve Campaign Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, the NCO Professional Development Ribbon, Numeral 5, Army Service Ribbon, the Overseas Service Ribbon Numeral four. His badges include the Combat Action Badge and he is the recipient of the Order of Saint George Medal – Bronze Award and the Order of Saint Maurice - Legionnaire.
