The Directorate of Human Resources provides the Fort Hamilton community with essential human resources support services to enhance the quality of life for those who work, live, and raise families at Fort Hamilton and the surrounding communities in support of Soldier For Life (SFL). The Directorate of Human Resources is made up of the following divisions and programs:

Army Substance Abuse Program

The Army Substance Abuse Program (ASAP) mission is to strengthen the overall fitness and effectiveness of the Army's workforce. ASAP enhances the combat readiness of Soldiers by providing guidance and leadership on all non-clinical alcohol and other drug policy issues; developing, establishing, administering,and evaluating non-clinical alcohol and other drug (AOD) abuse prevention,education, and training programs; overseeing the Military, Drug-Free Workplace.

US Army Garrison Fort Hamilton ID card section (bldg. 114, N, first floor) will be taking walk in Guests every Thursday from 1315-1600 HRS (1:15pm-4:00pm)- Limited to the first 15 Guest to include family members. It will be on a First come First Serve basis.

Monday-Wednesday and Friday will remain via appointment only, made through DEERS portal.

Please sign the login sheet upon arrival in the ID card section to secure your spot.

Mail and Distribution Center

Provides Official Mail and Distribution services to all of Fort Hamilton, ensuring the best possible service in Records Management programs to strengthen and support the entire community for Active Duty, National Guard, Reservist, Retiree's, Civilians and family members.

Mail Pick-up Requirements:

Official mail should only be processed in the Official Mail and Distribution Center, questions regarding official mail should be directed to the OMDC at (718) 630-4237. Mail Handler Training is available to all tenant units upon request. All Incoming and Outgoing mail will be picked up or dropped off to the mail room daily between the hours of 2:00 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Leadership must ensure that organization mail is transported by government vehicle only, POVs are not authorized to transport official mail. Mail clerks and mail orderlies may be held liable for any loss caused by their failure to transport or handle mail properly.

Mail must be safeguarded and secured at all times.

Provides information and services on benefits and entitlements to active-duty Soldiers and families preparing for retirement and provide courteous quality service regarding retirement benefits and entitlements to all retired personnel and their family members.
