Mr. Christopher D. Damour
He has been a Family Member, Soldier or DoD Civilian his entire life. He was born at Fort Stewart, Georgia and moved with his family to Fort Knox, KY; Bangor, ME; Cranston, RI; Pittsburgh, PA and Chester, VA. He enlisted in the US Army at age 17 and served as a Supply Specialist/Armorer.
He began his civilian career with the Army as a cooperative education student in Environmental/Natural Resources Division of the Deputy Chief of Staff, Engineer TRADOC. He subsequently assumed positions of greater responsibility working on the installation staffs at Fort Dix, NJ; Fort Gordon, GA; and Fort Bragg, NC. He was then promoted to positions on the Region staff in the Plans Division of the Army Installation Management Command (IMCOM) Southeast and Korea Regions.
Upon departing Korea, Mr. Damour served as an IMCOM Liaison Officer to Army Materiel Command at Redstone Arsenal, AL; Deputy Garrison Commander of U.S. Army Garrison Kwajalein Atoll; Deputy Garrison Commander for the U.S. Army Support Activity - Soto Cano Airbase, Republic of Honduras; Executive Director to the Commander, Navy Region Korea; and most recently with IMCOM Directorate-Sustainment at Redstone Arsenal, AL as an Installation Support Team Specialist.
Mr. Damour attended Old Dominion University in Norfolk, VA and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. He also received an Army Cost Management Certificate from the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, CA. He completed the Army Civilian Education System Intermediate and Advanced Courses, the Continuing Education for Senior Leaders Module, as well as the Naval Installations Command Senior Shore Leader Course.
Mr. Damour's key civilian recognition includes the Superior Civilian Service Medal, three Meritorious Civilian Service Medals, four Civilian Service Commendation Medals, Korean Civilian Service Medal, and he was the 2010 USFK Civilian Awardee by the Korean-American Friendship Society.
He is lucky to be married to his wife Fern and they have a wonderful grown daughter, Michele.
