Frequently Asked Questions

Can you park in driveways of unoccupied houses?

No, these spaces need to remain open for access by maintenance and repair personnel as needed. However, additional parking is conveniently available for use in each of the neighborhood’s Overflow Lots. Find them on E Knight Ave, E School St, W Fifth Ave, and Carr Cir. Please remember, Trailers and RVs should be parked in the RV Storage Lot on Stark Rd.

Is there Public Transportation/Services at Dugway?

Dugway is a remote and isolated installation.  There is no public transportation on Dugway Proving Ground, and it would likely be expensive if you tried to get a company to drive you to and from Dugway.  It is recommended that you have your own vehicle for transportation; however, Dugway does have an amazingly supportive community.  You may be able to find a ride off the Installation by reaching out via the “Dugway 24/7” Facebook page.

Is the public authorized to utilize the Dugway Clinic?

The clinic offers Occupational Health Services to Military personnel only.  In the event on an emergency the Installation has Paramedic and Medic 1st responder care.  If necessary, patients will be transferred to Mountain West Medical Center.

Is there veterinary care available on Dugway?

Dugway does not have veterinary services.  The nearest veterinary care is 45 miles away.

Can we reopen the auto bay?

Unfortunately, there is not enough demand for this service to justify the spending it would require sustaining this service. Additionally, this space is being fully utilized for mission functions.  According to the Dugway Housing Regulation DPG-420-1-3, you can do oil changes and other vehicle repairs in your driveway. Always take steps to never spill automotive fluids.  The hazardous waste facility will take used motor oil from your vehicle, if you have any. The facility is open Monday through Thursday. Alternatively, such fluids may be dropped at sites in Tooele.

Can we open a wood-working/rock shop with rock saws and polishing equipment?

FMWR conducted an analysis from outside locations with similar facilities and the data shows the cost versus the demand for reopening the auto shop and rock shop are not sustainable for Dugway. There are also regulatory requirements for safety that we cannot meet. Aside from funding, training and manning are other issues we cannot overcome. In addition, the old wood shop and rock shop are now being used for mission functions. We are open to seeking a solution to this so long as it is within available resources.

If there are things the community needs, how can we help?
