CSM Michael V. Arias
Command Sergeant Major Michael V. Arias was born in El Paso, Texas and enlisted in the U.S. Army in April 2005. He attended Basic Combat Training at Fort Jackson, South Carolina, and Advanced Individual Training at Fort Gregg-Adams where upon graduation, he was awarded the MOS of 92F, Petroleum Supply Specialist. CSM Arias’ first duty assignment was A CO, 210 BSB, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division (LI), Fort Drum, New York. He reclassed in June 2008 at Fort Gregg-Adams, Virginia, where he was awarded the MOS 92Y, Supply Specialist and was assigned to Fort Sill, Oklahoma.
CSM Arias most recently served as the Battalion Command Sergeant Major for 210th BSB, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division (LI). Other notable assignments include: G4 Sergeant Major for 1st Armored Division, Support Operations (SPO) Sergeant Major for the Division Sustainment Brigade, 1st Armored Division, First Sergeant for Headquarters Support Company (HSC), 127th ASB, 1st Combat Aviation BDE, 1st Armored Division, BDE S4 NCOIC 1st Combat Aviation Brigade, Squadron S4 NCOIC for 3-6 CAV, Recruiter (Rio Grande Company), BN S4 NCOIC for 5th BN 52nd Air and Missile Defense, 11th ADA BDE PBO NCOIC, BN S4 NCOIC, 2nd BN 4th Field Artillery Regiment, and Supply Sergeant A Battery, 2-4 FAR. CSM Arias’ combat tours of duty include tours in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, Operation Enduring Freedom, and Operation Freedom Sentinel.
CSM Arias’ military education includes Basic Leaders Course (BLC), Advanced Leaders Course (ALC), Senior Leaders Course (SLC), and Sergeants Major Course SMC (Class 72). He is also a graduate of the US Army Recruiting Course. CSM Arias currently holds a master's degree in business management from Western Governor’s University.
CSM Arias’ awards and decorations include: The Meritorious Service Medal (3 OLC), Army Commendation Medal (5 OLC), Army Achievement Medal (7 OLC), Iraqi Campaign Medal, Global War on Terror Expeditionary Medal, the NATO Medal, and the Afghanistan Campaign Medal. He has also earned the Combat Action Badge, and the Recruiter Badge (Silver). He is a recipient of the prestigious Audie Murphy Award and has received the Distinguished Order of Saint Martin.
