USAG Daegu Command Sgt. Major Asgar Kamaludeen
Command Sgt. Maj. Asgar Kamaludeen was born in Parika, Guyana and later immigrated to Queens, N. Y. in 1995. He entered the Army on February 14, 2001, where he attended and completed Basic Combat Training at the then Fort Benning, Ga. He graduated Advance Individual Training at Fort Jackson, S.C. as a 91B Wheel Vehicle Mechanic.
CSM Kamaludeen has served in various leadership positions to include, Motor Sergeant, Shop Foreman, Maintenance Control Sergeant, Platoon Sergeant, First Sergeant, S3 Operations Sergeant, G4 Maintenance Sergeant Major, J4 Sergeant Major and most recently as the 173rd Brigade Support Battalion Command Sergeant Major, Italy. The highlight of his career has been serving as a First Sergeant for three separate Companies including Forward Support Company, 37th Brigade Engineer Battalion; 2nd Brigade Combat Division, 82nd Airborne Division, D Troop, 1st Squadron,91st Cavalry, 173rd Airborne Brigade; and H Company, 1st Battalion of the 21st Infantry Regiment, 2nd Infantry BCT, 25th Infantry Division.
CSM Kamaludeen has deployed on multiple combat, contingency, and humanitarian operations in support of U.S. national interests to Operation Iraqi Freedom, Operation New Dawn, Iraq, Operation Atlantic Resolve in Eastern Europe, Operation Fearless Guardian in Ukraine, Operation Unified Response Haiti, and Operation Freedoms Sentinel, Afghanistan.
CSM Kamaludeen’s awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (5 Oak Leaf Clusters), Army Commendation Medal (3 OLC), Army Achievement Medal (4 OLC), Good Conduct Medal (6th Award), National Defense Service Ribbon, Afghanistan Campaign Medal with campaign star, Iraq Campaign Medal (2 Campaign Stars), Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Korean Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Medal, Humanitarian Service Medal, NCO Professional Development Ribbon (Numeral 4), Overseas Service Ribbon (Numeral 8), NATO Medal, Combat Action Badge, Master Parachutist Badge, Air Assault Badge, and Italian, German, and Moldavian Parachutist Badges.
He is a graduate of Airborne School, Jumpmaster School, Expert Soldier Badge, Air Assault School, SERE Level C, Battle Staff NCO Course, Operational Contract Support, and all levels of NCOES to include the United State Army Sergeant Major Academy.
He assumed the responsibility as Command Sergeant Major of U.S. Army Garrison Daegu, South Korea, July 10, 2023.
Command Sergeant Major Kamaludeen is married with three children.
